Do these people actually WANT to serve, or are they ust publicity hounds? I'd be inclined to call their bluff, sign 'em up, and ship 'em directly to boot camp on the next bus...

Let them enlist, torture them through boot camp and send them all to Alaska to protect our border with Canada up near the Yukon.
And of course, put them on the rubber gun squad.

All they have to do is tell one or two of them it's okay and get them to sign the papers.
Faced with the possibility of being inducted will change their minds.

Let the fags and dykes for their OWN army...they would be equivalent to the French, then, in combat effectiveness and aggressiveness.

In the next few months, gay men and women in their late teens and early 20s will attempt to enlist at recruiting offices in 30 cities, including Bloomington, Indiana. They will also disclose their sexual orientation. Trying to help the war effort, no doubt. And they say the Left isn't patriotic!

I thought liberals hate war, hate the military, hate Republican Presidents!
There's enough liberals, errr gays, in the Intelligence and State departments undermining the War on Terror already.

It seems like a self-inflicted wound if the military DOESN'T ask and they tell anyway. Talk about leading with your chin.

That's just what we need to destroy morale and be defeated by our enemies. Any nation that would even consider permitting degenerate predators to serve in its armed services is asinine.

The military should accept them & ship them off to Iraq.

I'm sorry but I was in the military and I sure wouldn't want a lesbian next to me while I was showering.

A group of gay activists are beginning a national campaign against the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy on gays. Yah gotta love the chutzpah of the dems - they want out of the war - so the troops can come home and "march and dress up in uniforms - and NOT risk their lives" and they want the gays accepted.
Yep, dems love the troops. Not the mission, not the war, not the commander in chief, but they loooooooveeeeee the troops. As a taxpayer, I have no desire whatsoever to support the dem idea of a military -- guys getting to dress up in cool uniforms and never having to defend the nation?... I don't think so...

Arguably, as we have seen on FR, a noble cause but a disgusting and immature tactic. It seems like the homosexual world does not understand their actions turn people against them. Flouting national law and getting married in San Francisco is not going to drum up little support for your cause.
Someone should surprise these media whores with a "You want to enlist? Ok, just fill out these papers..."-type comment just to see the looks on their faces.

I have an idea. Accept their applications, send them to Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, one at a time for processing, keep them in reception station for a couple of days, then reject their application and dump them at the front gate to find their way home.

I challenge it too. It should be: "Do ask, do tell, do dishonorably discharge."

Wasn't always that way.

Right to Serve. I agree with you. No one has a "right to serve". People are turned down for enlistment or discharged for being too tall, too short, too fat, too thin, not scoring high enough on aptitude tests, not being able to meet physical fitness standards, religious beliefs, etc.
There are hundreds of ways to serve your country without being in the armed services. If these people were interested in serving the country they could find other ways to do it. They just want to be the center of attention for awhile.

A group of gay activists are beginning a national campaign against the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy on gays. I agree with them 100%. The military should ask and the recruits should tell the truth. Gays should not be admitted.
Shalom.

Hey, I have an idea. Let's allow homos to serve openly in the military. Then we can have more incidents like this:
From
Frontpage Magazine, Feb. 4, 2004:
"Odder still is the attempt to make some sort of martyr out of former Lt. Col. Steve Loomis, a Vietnam war veteran and recipient of both the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Liberals point to his dismissal from the Army in 1997, purportedly because of his sexuality, as proof that the United States military is a backwards institution running a witch hunt for homosexuals. In the wake of the U.S. Supreme Courts ruling in Lawrence v. Texas, which struck down a sodomy law on the grounds that it furthers no legitimate state interest, Loomis has brought a lawsuit against the government over his dismissal. "So how was it that the United States Army outed Loomis? Well, it was right about the time his house burned down and pornography he had made with enlisted men was found in the debris. Furthermore, the arsonist turned out to be an enlisted man Loomis had been photographing nude."

Why not create a "Gay Brigade" for these people that is separate from the rest of the troops?
