I'm not a Cuba expert, but I would guess that even if something happened to the brother, there are more evil wannabes who will take his place.

Will Iran go in as a stabilizing force?

He can't be much younger than Fidel, if he is younger.

Raul = Castro without the charm

Hard to say, maybe the old commie mellowed with age. One would hope. Course old dogs get set in their ways.

So, do we have LEGAL Cuban cigars in our future? Do I need to get a bigger humidor?

What the Cubans are going to have to watch out for is Chaves stepping in.

A powder keg?
Wishful thinking by the mindset that promised a hero's welcome for Iraq's liberators.

While Castro may very well be dead or incapacitated, it's also important to remember that he could very well be alive and attempting to tempt the U.S. into over-extending our resources...such as by making Cuba appear unstable and in need of a U.S. stability force that Castro could then ambush in a massive sucker punch.
Best to proceed with extreme caution on any military deployment to Cuba...even weeks after the major news media has proclaimed Castro dead and buried.
All may not be as it seems.

13 August Fidel turns 80. Anybody know the 'over/under'?

Do I need to get a bigger humidor? My crystal ball says yes. Latinos have never been as easy to permanently oppress as most Asians are.

They rounded up the reserves and youths corps, and Raul hasnt been seen. Wonder what is going on.

Hopefully it's under, and soon.

Right now Cuba is a powder keg. What is the best thing that is likely to happen? They aren't likely to go to a two party system with free elections. At least without a lot of "help".

Possibly, but we do have the advantage of an on site military base, which Iran and Venezuela do not have. Still, it's best to leave the Cubans to themselves and be content with keeping out any significant foreign military.
