Israel hacks into Hezbollah TV

ISRAEL today hacked into the television station of Hezbollah, emblazoning images on the screen showing pictures of corpses and claiming the Shiite militant group's leader Hassan Nasrallah was a liar.

One of the images shown on Al-Manar television portrayed the body of a fighter lying face-down, wearing khaki trousers with a text beneath in Arabic reading: "This is the photograph of a body of a member of Hezbollah's special forces".

"Nasrallah lies: it is not us that is hiding our losses," continued the text, which appeared during the evening news and stayed on the screen for several minutes.

A photograph of Nasrallah himself also appeared with the legend: "member of Hezbollah: watch out".

Another photograph of corpses was framed by the words: "there are a large number of corpses like this on the ground and Nasrallah is hiding this truth".

Israel also hacked into FM radio stations and instead of normal programs a two-minute recording was repeatedly broadcast.

"Hassan sent men to fight the Israeli army, an army of steel, without preparing them. Stop listening to patriotic hymns for a moment, reflect and bring your feet back to the ground," said the Arabic message.

Israel has used a variety of technological weapons to wage a psychological war in Lebanon, also sending text messages to mobile phones and voice messages saying their war was against Hezbollah and not the Lebanese people.

MAybe they should also broadcast the video they have showing the Hezbollah launching rockets from civilian areas and buildings to show why it was that Israel bombed Qana.

What good would that do? They can look out their own front windows and see that.

Developing idea...

Israel has few fair forums to present its case. Right?

1. Anti-Israel Venues: World Court, UN, European News-media, US Main-Stream-Media, etc. have proven hostile and prejudiced against Israel. Some of America's better newspapers have fairly presented Israel's case, but alas their circulation is still too small.

2. Possibly Fair Venue: It occurs to me that one place Israel could present its case is the US Supreme Court. There are precedents for this from the 19th Century, notably a border dispute among Chile, Peru and Bolivia.

3. Constitutional? It is Constitutional because (A) the US Constitution, Article III, gives the Supreme Court "Original Jurisdiction" in Treaty cases, and (B) there are enough Treaties involved so that someone can find some Treaty clause pin the legal action on.

4. Fair? It is Fair because, although some Supreme Court Justices have bizarre interpretations and opinions, all the Justices were excellent at guiding "Findings Of Facts" back in the days when each Justice presided over a Court with Original Jurisdiction in ordinary matters. This ability impose Rules of Evidence is all what is needed here.

5. Historical Model? It would work like the "Truth Commission" that Archbishop Tutu chaired in South Africa right after the fall of Apartheid. The SA "Truth Commission" use demonstrable facts to expose Apartheid for all to see for all time -- Apartheid was bad for Whites as well as Blacks. Similarly, the Israel Case would use facts that are demonstrated with all the Rigor of our Rules of Evidence.
