In the unfortunate event of a shootout, federal, state and local officers along the southwest border are not adequately armed. Compared to the ruthless and brazen and open behavior of the cartels we face, we are most certainly outmanned. In the event of a shootout, many casualties will likely occur. This is no different than same situation in every city/town in the US. The avgerage police officer has a 9mm and the average gangbanger/big drug dealers have mac-10's or other automatic weapons.

So it's war on our border, war in the middle East and our own elite leftist "liberal" fifth columnists "citizens" at war with us in the media.
And our wonderful, loyal and dependable Euro allies at war with us in Europe and Islamofascists everywhere, all trying to destroy freedom, the Jews and America.
Tough times. Freedom is surrounded by hatred and jackals everywhere.

Sigifredo Gonzales Jr., sheriff of Zapata County, Texas, recently testified in startling detail before a congressional committee how his officers are facing overwhelming odds in any confrontation with the criminal gangs who consider the border their turf. And, so what does the Senate do? Give them amnesty!!! I swear, they have lost their collective minds!!

U.S. police officers and Border Patrol agents facing superior firepower from drug cartels, criminal street gangs and human smugglers based in Mexico? Yes, say law enforcement officials and the situation is getting worse, not better.
Gee, and Bush's solution is to send National Guard troops to the border to conduct administrative duties there and to add UAV's to the patrol force. That's helpful.
And Neal Boortz believes that we should end the war on drug crime. After all, no one is getting hurt by doing drugs and it's no onne's business but the druggies'.

This makes you wonder why in the world do we bother having a homeland security if one of the most obvious dangers such as no border protection such as walls is being ignored.
It speaks volumes about those who believe they are the power and control over people.
There is nothing more valuble to human beings as individual freedom. To make choices and decisions of their own without and to not lose self-respect by turning this freedom over to others to make their choices and decisions. One surely will lose their self respect if someone is making their choices and decisions and that is not a good thing.

Why not various SWAT teams placed on rotation at the borders. They they would be doing something really useful for a change.

McCain, and alot of the open border amnesty senators have been all over the networks with comments along these lines ( parapharse) " Having Missles and bombs being shot over the border GIVES Israel the right to defend itself, in it's current manner"
Can they not see that the precursor to the same types of battles are brewing on our borders....or do they just choose not to see.
I'd love to see some in the media give these words right back to these guys when the debate shifts back to the borders.

Personally I'm torn between the desire to complain about the "law abiding" illegal immigrants firing on our border patrols, and the desire to ask Mike Bloomberg to go down to Mexico and take away their guns.
What's a guy to do?

Yet, not a single shot was returned by the deputies or the Border Patrol officers last Wednesday night because they were outmanned and outgunned a condition increasingly common along the 2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico border, say law enforcement officials. Is it really due to being outgunned, or because the deputies and border patrol agents are complacent - or worse, cowards?

Where else, in this country, do law officers come under fire and NOT fire back? Where is the NG? Why does no one seems to care besides the people directly involved?

Bit by bit it will become apparent, even to Bush and the Democrats that this World War includes the invasion from the south as it gets more and more violent. At some point we will start to lose agents to Mexican gunfire. It is already time to employ close air support but we will have to suffer some real incursions in force and probably many dead agents before anything real happens on our side.

Wait until the Cubans and Venezelans pay off the Mexican Military (they are trying right now to do this). They would then work for AMLO, and all hopes for a good mexico will be lost.

"The original members of this cartel were trained in the United States by our government." If that is so, we should know who they are. Hit-squad time!
As far as the scum shooting across the border, it is high time we returned the favor with some of these "Nasty Meds"... (Caution: extremely grapnic 2.3MB long-lens video of Talibunnies being taken out by long-range HE .50BMG Barret sniper rifle shots.)
