Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has frequently said he won't run for president in 2008, but he's never ruled out being on the ticket as someone's running mate.
And he didn't Monday when asked about teaming up with Arizona Sen. John McCain as Republicans hope to come up with a ticket to keep the White House - now occupied by Bush's older brother, President George W. Bush.
"I like Sen. McCain. I think he's a good guy," Bush told reporters after returning from a holiday in Maine with his family.
Any potential GOP nominee would covet the 27 electoral votes in Florida where Bush enjoys a high job approval rating among voters as he nears the end of his second term.
It was the 25 electoral votes Florida held in 2000 that sent the current president into office - by a scant 537-vote margin of more than 6 million cast in the state.
Bush, 53, would also provide some age balance on such a ticket. McCain turns 70 next month.
When prodded about the likelihood of a McCain-Bush ticket, Bush hedged just slightly.
"There's all sorts of time to worry about the 2008 election," he said.
Bush is prohibited from seeking a third consecutive term as governor by Florida law.
THAT would be a horrible mistake....
Combining a "family dynasty" entry with a Manchurian Candidate Lunatic...

Ask the MIA/POW families if they believe that....
Ask the families living on the Mexican border in his state if they believe that..
Personally, I couldn't trust McCain as President ----- and can barely stomach him as a Senator.
A choice between him and Hillary -- is simply choosing the poison to destroy the nation...
McCain is NOT a leader, has never been a leader and in his lifetime will never be a leader..

I think it's way too soon for Mcvain or the media to be thinking about a running mate for him. We don't like him and I don't believe he'll win the GOP primary. He might not even run.
"The MSM is sure pushing for Rudy, Romney and or McCain."
They've mostly been pushing mcVain. It's smoke and mirrors, they "need" a weak GOP candidate to run vs someone like hitlery.
I'm thinking that she might not even run, after all the hoo-hah that's been said about her in the media. I am enjoying the fact that the rats are simply reeling right now, they have no clue whom to run or how to win.
Now, now. He wasn't a "reverse ace." He only crashed 4 planes...
It is way past time for you to change your tinfoil; it's stinking up the place.
Five....but who's counting? LOL
hopefully another Bush will be ready by then.
Oh my goodness. lol.
ok.. to all who read that statment disregard it ... I was kidding
I think we are going to see a surprise ticket like John Elway (former Bronco QB) / Steve Largent (former Seahawk WR). I think this is a hundred thousand times more possible than McCain / Anybody.
The other possibility is:
Laura Bush in '08 and '12; Jeb Bush in '16 and '20; Jeb's son George P. in '24 and '28; then the W twins Jenna and Barbara in '32, '36, '40 and '44.
:)
If Barbara runs, I'll be tempted to immigrate to vote for her. What a babe!!!
But Jeb may have other problems because of his wife. Reading The Bushes: Portrait of a Dynasty it's obvious that Colu Bush is not to her husband what Laura Bush is to hers. One relative even said that Jeb Bush had a chip on his shoulder because of his wife and they (the family, I presume) thought that maybe he wouldn't go national because of her.
Jeb isn't bad, but it isn;t his time and this ticket with McCain is a loser.
Wouldn't vote for eitherr of them right now. I need a break from the Bush dynasty and McCain needs to retire quietly.
LOL! Alfie ain't too bad as a governor though.
Just say NO!!! or OH NO!!!
