King George of America, this letter is for you

When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands that connected them with another, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

The history of the present King George of America is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States.

To prove this, let Facts about the excesses of King George of America be submitted to a candid world:

s He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good. By use of a device called the "signing statement," he has placed himself above more than 750 laws enacted since he became king, including the anti-torture law passed by Congress to correct a most grievous wrong.

"King George" is a talking point from the 2000(!) election where the democrat party (and left wingers across the world) tried to delegitimize the Bush Administration with implications of "anoitment" and "selection rather than election"

The loony who wrote this is stuck in 2000.

That's not hogwash. 'Tis all too true. It is his responsibility and his duty to appoint to the Supreme Court people of his choice. That is what every President has ever done. George Washington appointed the very young John Jay. How old was he at the time? 29? George W. Bush, in difficult circumstances, when he was beseiged by his base for his choice of Harriet Miers, gave the Democrats the person for whom they'd voted unanimously for a position on an Appeals Court - John Roberts. Later, he appointed another similarly qualified judge who'd strived for the position his entire life, wrote in his High School yearbook that he was headed to the Supreme Court. This President chose these people. He wanted them, he excercised his privilege.

Hard to tell why Beth begrudges him his choice, and she certainly is free to lament it, but when she says, "He has appointed judges dependent on his will alone......" the right response is, "Yes, Ms. Quinn, he certainly has, exactly per the wishes of the founding fathers. God bless him."

When I was a boy, I was an Independent for very high minded reasons; I was arrogant about being "fair" and evaluating every issue and candidate. As I matured, I discovered that people of two different mindsets drift into the gravity fields of two different parities. I discovered that when bad choices had outweighed good accomplishments, one party told their own President, Richard Nixon, that it was time to go because his baggage was hurting the nation. And I discovered that when bad choices outweighed mediocre accomplishments, one party defended their President, Bill Clinton, no matter how much damage it did to the country because they knew if they didn't tough it out, it would hurt them politically.

Bill Clinton, the smarmy, smirking, arrogant schoolboy made me a lifelong Republican, because he taught me what a party with no morals looks like. He made me a "broken glass" Republican, because staring at the face of Evil has proven to me that no matter what flaws My Party may have, the only alternative is Oblivion.

Except that the president does not appoint judges, except for recess appointments. He nominates judges and the Senate confirms them.

Madam,

I have read your recent Article concerning the one you refer to as ‘King George’, and I must admit I have taken Great Offense to your Ignominious Words against our Dear Leader.

May I remind Madam that our Country is at War? Our good and faithful Leader has done all that is within his Right and Power to strike back at and subdue those of the Evil Faith that attacked this Country almost five years ago. I would hope that you would note that no further attacks against our beloved Country have occurred since that Time.

Concerning the ‘anti-torture’ laws that you spoke of, how, dear Madam, would you handle the Situation? Give them candy? Those that were taken by our Soldiers are, in fact Enemies of this Country, and not only that, since they are not under the Flag of any one Nation, they do not operate under the Auspices of the Geneva Convention. These Enemies would do anything to you or any one of our fair Citizens, including Rape, Torture, and as we have seen witnessed, Beheading. While we do not respond in Kind, we have the Right and Responsibility to extract Information that would be of great help to our Soldiers. We have not gone as far as they would, Madam, nor will we.

Concerning what you view as a Violation of the Fourth Amendment, I ask you this: if someone with Criminal Intent was planning to assault you or your Neighbor, would you not want to know? As we have witnessed, indeed within the last two Weeks, there are those of the Evil Faith who are still making preparations to attempt to hurt, cripple, and destroy our Country. If one has nothing to hide, one has nothing to Fear. And, if you should be thinking that Our Leader would make use of Searches and Seizures to harass or arrest those who have made statements against him, or for those of another Political Party, or even against those who have a different View of the World, I would suggest that you are, at the very least, mistaken.

Concerning the so-called Violations of Free Speech, I would suggest that to this Day, no matter how Repugnant or Evil the things which certain Persons would say against our Country, our Soldiers, or our Leader, I cannot think of any Instance where any Person has been place under Arrest or suffered Imprisonment for what they say.

Now, having Answered your Diatribe against what you View as an Evil that has infected this Country and its leadership, I would suggest the following: make careful Thought during this weekend where we celebrate this Country’s Independence from the original King George. Ask yourself where the threat to our Country’s and our Citizen’s health and well-being comes from. If this Country is to survive and continue for another 230 years, we must remain Vigilant and we must Restrain Evil wherever it may be found, within or without. The consequences of not doing so are nothing short of the Destruction of our Country, our Freedom, and our Way of Life.

And if, dear Madam, you would still wish to declare your Independence from our Leader, and if you can find another Country in this World where you have the same Freedoms and Rights which you currently enjoy, I would respectfully suggest that you do so, forthwith.
