Maybe....phsstpok, but Hannity plays in a much bigger league than Colmes. When you can get the SEC. of State or the VP on your show, you are in the big leagues.
That said, neither one are in Rush's league.

And if the SWIFT program is hit by terrorists, with death by bombing or beheading of some of their employees, part of the blame will have to be shared by the NYT and LATimes. DITTO! And ..more than that .. as I said upthread, if there's God forbid another devastating attack on US, and these leaks show they helped the hands of the evil terrorists, I want to see them criminally charged for aiding and abetting the terrorists in wartime and rot in jail.

The worse one for it IMHO Kimberley in the Line-up closely followed by H & C but Kimberley seems to have no idea when there is a break coming up and always mistimes her questions.

Yes I would say so.
The press is trying awfully hard to validate their actions.
Almost all the talk shows had a member of the press being defensive ;)

The NYT editors originally said said they had to go public because it's the public's right to know about such a secret program.I went to Church today, so I missed all the Sunday gossip shows. Have the editors at the NYS never heard of the phrase "Need to know", meaning does the public or a single person actually NEED to know about a certain program?
I am in the military, carry a "Top Secret" clearance, but I don't get info on every "Top Secret" mission or program, because I don't NEED to know about said mission or program.
The only time I get "Confidential", "Secret" or "Top Secret" memos or info, is when I NEED the info. That answer by the NTS is nothing but Bravo Sierra.

You really deserved this. Great post, IMHO.
To: Fishtalk
Fishtalk, you need to go
here and read the interview with Andrew McCarthy. While it may be true that some terrorist groups were aware that Western intelligence had some ability to track their financial transactions (and I would caution you from extrapolating reports about Hamas to Al Qaeda, as the latter is worldwide and thus probably utilizing the international banking network far more than Hamas), what they were not aware of until the NYT blew the story was that the CIA was using the SWIFT program to track THEM. The money really was secondary. Some bright people in the CIA figured out that using the SWIFT codes could lead them to the actual terrorists on the ground, or at least the people who could lead them to the terrorists. That's blown to hell now. AQ is just going to use banks that don't participate in SWIFT, or use temporary accounts and fake IDs that will be untraceable through SWIFT now.

Best comment I've heard came from Brit Hume. Unlike something might be illegal, this is not and there cannot be a claim of how Americans have been mislead or betrayed. The "only" reason to release the information was to embarrass the administration by an organization believing exposing the Bush Administration is more important then the information released.
To: Dems_R_Losers
Probably the worst part of this entire debacle is that the terror types will all be very paranoid about how any money is transferred from now on thanks to the efforts of the NYT. It's a huge loss for freedom and yet another wake up call for the terror types and their supporters like the slimes.

For anyone interested, it just came to my attention on another thread that we can order POW/MIA bracelets for soldiers lost in battle.
You can choose to have a soldier's name engraved who was lost in Afghanistan, Iraq, the First Gulf War, etc., or someone from 9/11.
It's a beautiful web site and some of the proceeds go to help victim's families.

Well, you could become famous and get a Pulitzer if you breached security and got more information than you NEED to know to conduct an operation, and I guess that's all that's important to the America/military hating media.

I agree with your take. I've been posting on a lot of blogs that the principle of the media should be, if it's a close call, DON'T publish. I personally don't think the NSA surveillance story was a close call. It was news that the government was wiretapping domestic phones without warrants. This story was a much closer call, which is why they should NOT have printed it. And it's why we are all so pissed off and all the weasel words coming out of Keller, Baquet, and co. are just pissing us off worse. All they need to do is say "we're sorry, if we had this one to do over again we probably wouldn't have run it." But they are too damn smug and arrogant to ever do that.

That in a way makes it worse both from the presenter who knows this and also from the station that they allow their advertisers and satellite contracts to dictate this.

I have never heard Colmes radio show but that would probably be a fairer comparison to compare them separately on how they handle their respective radio programs.
