Pride Festival Denied Funding Josh Pringle Tuesday, June 20, 2006
Organizers of Ottawa-Gatineau Pride Week say the future of the festival is in jeopardy.
The comments were made after a City of Ottawa committee rejected a request for 20 million dollars in emergency funding.
The Corporate Services and Economic Development Committee did approve 30-thousand dollars in city services and debt forgiveness.
Vice-Chair of the Pride Week Committee Tamara Stammis says the board will have to meet to decide their next step.
Stammis says the cash request was an important element for the festival.
Councillor Diane Holmes tells CFRA News "is this a matter of prejudice or not? I certainly hope not. But it certainly doesn't look good when we have supported and provided for two festivals that were also in sort of extreme circumstances."
The City of Ottawa recently provided funding to the Canadian Tulip Festival and the Franco-Ontarien festival.
The source article at the link has been CORRECTED. Originally it said 20 million was denied, the amount is actually 20 thousand:

That's what I was thinking, too. At least to cover this 'emergency'. There is always talk of the gay community's dual income (for couples) no kids (for many) lifestyle and it's increased buying power. Well, everyone can drop a 20 into a kitty and the problem could be solved, right? >:-)
Yes, and a good thing. Kind of hard to believe, though, isn't it? Their mantra of tolerance was a proud display for the rest of us of their supposed better social policies. Of all the things to lose funding in Toronto, this would be the last I'd expect.
Yes.
Thanks for the ping.
1. If it is about pride, why do so many participants hide their faces behind masks and paint elaborate costumes?
2. Does anyone else find it ironic that Pride is one of the 7 Deadly Sins and homosexuals have to have Pride festivals and parades?
Pride Festival Denied Funding
Ohhhhhh the horrrorrrrr..... -the humanity.....
It's all only for promotion of the disorder and an excuse to pretend to be normal - when all it does is to prove how abnormal they are.
I've been on a few of those parades, and even though it was a time when I was very much part of the homo agenda bandwaggon, I still felt very uncomfortable and perverted, with the normal folk standing and watching the freak show.
Most 'gay pride' events seem to get local government sponsorship, especially here in the UK. Now I see how totally unethical that is.
I would hope that some time in the future it would be unthinkable for public money to be used to promote this disorder. It's a matter of re-education and a change of political opinion.
Udderly ridiculous!
They still have to repay a huge debt as well to the City of Ottawa...and must present a sustainability plan to be allowed to operate in the City of Ottawa. The city's Auditor General will also be walking into their doors to do a total audit of the plan.
They did get credit for city services used though, and they are entitled to police and ambulance and other core services. However, they still are without funding!

Sorry, Diane Holmes, your motion basically lost! ;)
Thank you for your perspective. I hope many more people who used to "buy into" the homosexual agenda see the light, and realize that they too can leave the gay life behind.

I'd hope so too... unfortunately, the ones who take part in these 'gay pride' events don't want to leave it behind, and social acceptance of the disorder as being 'normal' gives them no incentive to change.
While these promotional events are financed by local authorities, the message is one of encouragement for the homosexuals and their activities.
The Flash Mob network organizes transporting in for these events too.
