BAGHDAD, Iraq Jun 8, 2006 (AP)— Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the al-Qaida-linked militant who led a bloody campaign of suicide bombings, kidnappings and hostage beheadings in Iraq, has been killed in a U.S. air raid north of Baghdad, Iraq's prime minister said Thursday.
Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said al-Zarqawi was killed Wednesday evening along with seven aides.

BAGHDAD - the chief of Al-Qaïda in Iraq, Jordanian Abou Moussab Al-Zarqaoui was killed, announced Thursday public television Iraqia, by quoting Iraqi the Prime Minister, Nouri Al-Maliki.
"the Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki announces that the Jordanian terrorist Abou Moussab Al-Zarqaoui, chief of so-called Al-Qaïda Organisation in Mésopotamie, was killed", indicated Iraqi television.
A spokesman of the American army, questioned by AFP, indicated to prefer not to comment on this information until it is officially announced by Iraqi the Prime Minister.
I'll bet Helen Thomas is going to look like she sucked a lemon when she hears this.
