Exactly. Even the 44% number is also in dispute and is considered high.
Another 15 million illegals.
That is exactly why I support a Guest Worker Program where Mexicans can come in legally to pick whatever needs picking, get their money, go home to Mexico in the off-season and come back into the U.S. legally the next season to pick whatever needs picking.
Otherwise, we will have a steady stream of 15 million new illegals sneaking across the border every 10 years and never going home so as not to risk another desert crossing.
If the Council of La Raza likes Bush's policy, it MUST be wrong!
First, I'm no lady.
You are soo full crap its not funny. Over 70% of our american makup came in the imigration waves after the Civil War with the Homestead Act that opened the Western Territories to settlements. This brought waves if immigrants from all parts of Europe and Russia to the US forcing the creation of our current immigration laws and the building of the gateway to the US at Rickers Island in NY. Time you read your history, pal!
He alsp promised AMNESTY for 11 million criminals in our borders. This is an affront to all who have spent years or TENS OF YEARS following the rules to come here legally.
"I am not as intrested in what he says. I'm want to see WHAT HE DOES. I want to see NG arresting aliens, I want to see a wall. I want to see deportations.
Spare me the promises. Let me see action.
SECURE THE BORDERS!"
ditto
What a windbag. You belong at KKK meeting.
Me? I'm unhappy because I think it weakens President Bush yet again and thus weakens the war on islamofascism.
Here's the weird thing, principle(President Bush's views on immigration) wins out over politics. He simply can not draw a bright line between illegal and legal immigration and thus his principle, though wrong, remains steadfast.
A rarity indeed but the costs will be very expensive in my view.
At least they work.
His assistant probably didn't peel enough grapes for him. He's incendiary.
Agreed. I am done voting for Republicans. Done.
Which means those who can produce forged documents that they have been here 5 years. Which means everyone.
...should have to pay a meaningful penalty for breaking the law to pay their taxes to learn English and to work in a job for a number of years.
Meaningful penalty = a paltry few thousand. Learn English = a few words on a bogus test. Work in a job = Another forged document.
People who meet these conditions should be able to apply for citizenship but approval would not be automatic, and they will have to wait in line behind those who played by the rules and followed the law.
A short bureaucratic delay = "not automatic".
What I have just described is not amnesty it is a way for those who have broken the law to pay their debt to society, and demonstrate the character that makes a good citizen.
No, what you have described is shamnesty. A way for Bush to try to bamboozle voters so he can deliver the goods to the OBL.
and the 27% that are left liking us are the Bushbots from FreeRepublic.com that would still love us no matter how liberal we become."
lmao
You left out AMNESTY for THIRTY MILLION ILLEGALS. How do you spin that one?!?
Do we go for votes or a secure country?
