WASHINGTON, D.C. Congressmen Tom Tancredo (R-CO) decried a recently-disclosed U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) practice of tipping off the Mexican military to the location of Minutemen volunteers. According to a story in this mornings Inland Daily Bulletin, CBP notifies the Mexican government of when and where the Minutemen are planning to monitor the border and if violence is used by the Minutemen against illegal aliens. There has not been one verified instance of Minutemen volunteers using violence against illegal aliens.
The Mexican military doesnt exactly have a good government reputation. The Border Patrol has documented more than two hundred incursions into the U.S by the Mexican military, and Texas sheriffs even apprehended Mexican government vehicles that were used to ferry drug runners across the border. By tipping off Mexicos military to the Minutemens location, the U.S. government is asking for trouble, said Tancredo.
Heavily-armed military officials stationed only yards from civilians are at least intimidating. I can only surmise that the Border Patrol bureaucrats spying is meant to have a chilling effect on the Minutemens recruitment of more volunteers, said Tancredo.
The Minutemen havent been accused of breaking the law. Quite the contrarythey have gone out of their way to aid law enforcement and ensure the safety of our border. The U.S. government has no grounds upon which to stifle the Minutemens constitutional right to organize, Tancredo concluded. I want to know the legal basis for CBP informing a foreign government of the activities of private citizens who are obeying the law.
San Bernardino County has been a ghetto for generations. It doesn't help when greedy developers take a couple of acres and turn it into a rabbit warren. No one is buying, and so it turns into HUD. Shoddy construction, 3 families living in each house? No way in hell would I be passing out Avon brochures.
I've noticed that, too... starting to look too much like our own version of the CW here on FR; hope this isn't a sign of the times for the country.
Ah, the Mexican "Government"...yes, beyond reproach. LOL!
Who said they were beyond "reproach"? What was asked, was why would they lie or exaggerate about this on their official Secretary of Exterior Relations web site?
Coming from people who dislike the government
"The government"? What is that supposed to mean? You do recognize which web site you are on, don't you? We favor small, constitutional government which primarily limits itself to...and fulfills its primary constitutional duty of defending the Republic.
...and [people who dislike] Mexico...again, how ironic.
Disliking Mexico....? You smear with a pretty broad brush here. Who are you talking about precisely? What "Mexico" are you talking about? It's people? It's food? It's water? Or perhaps more apropos...It's government? Its policies? Its course of conduct and attitudes? It's Illegal ex-patriates?
If an American objects to anything about Mexico's own antagonistic anti-U.S. stances is that 'disliking' Mexico?
And even if some critics thereby did earn the opprobium of 'disliking' Mexico...how would that effect their legitimacy? And doesn't the risk of bias cut both ways? E.g., isn't it just as dubious to the credibility of statements made by an ardently P.C. Mexiphilic U.S. political establishment?
Why would the U.S. government lie about this?
Are their lips moving?
It's already explicit that they contradicted themselves. Which is the real story?
As for motive...that is clear. It's an unpopular position if true. Hence one element of damage control technique is outright stone-wall denial. Remember Bubba's "I did not have sex with that woman!"? Maintained right up until the blue-stained dress appeared and the DNA sample was matched...
We have a pattern of "denial behavior" on the Border and Illegals issues by some high-ups in this administration that prompts me to find this more credible than not. Look no further than the Amnesty proposals which they deny are amnesty. Recall how fast the aspersions and smears against the MM were deployed in their formative days...when they were called "vigilantes".
Of course...we trust the Mexican government and our government is evil. Some new gold standard you folks have there.
I think SV makes six banneees. Just on this thread! I find this incredible on a site that used to pride itself on open discussion and fairness.
God bless our Border Patrol agents and the Minutemen who support them. May He keep them safe from the criminals and terrorists, because their own government sure won't.

Minutemen Prepare to Rally on Washington, D.C.
Minutemen Remain Last Defense Against Amnesty
Los Angeles, CA - Following successful rallies across the Southwestern
United States and in President Bushs hometown of Crawford, TX, the
Minuteman Caravan is now preparing for its final push through the South
and into Washington, D.C.
The caravan was organized to drive home the point to political leaders
that the American people are fed up with their lack of response to the
most important issue in protecting our nation s sovereignty and to
bring attention to the amnesty bills currently being discussed in
Congress.
Amnesty for illegal aliens is coming, warned Minuteman Project
Founder Jim Gilchrist, if the politicians have their way. It is only the
Minutemen and concerned Americans across the nation who can still block
such a dangerous policy. The President and Congress are being put on
notice: We will not stand idly by while our laws are violated, our borders
are breached and our sovereignty is threatened.
Details on the event are as follows:
Topic: Rally to Stop the Illegal Alien Guest Worker Amnesty Program
Date: Friday, May 12, 2006
Time: 11:00 AM ? 3:00 PM
Location: Upper Senate Park, Washington D.C.
Also participating will be:
Jerome Corsi, Harvard Ph.D co-author of the #1 New York Times
bestseller Unfit for Command;
Minuteman Project Executive Director Steve Eichler J.D.;
Barbara Coe, co-author of Proposition 187 and the President of
California Coalition for Immigration Reform;
John Clark of the American Immigration Control Foundation;
Minuteman group leaders and members from across the country as well as
invited guests from the U.S Congress.
Who says anyone trusts the Mexican government? It's a government pursuing its self interest like any other. Except ours. And our government is contradicting itself.
her acct doesn't show this
TT For President!
Her account says banned or suspended .... has since sometime yesterday afternoon.
ping
I need to write a letter. This makes me angry.
And there you have it.... there are ONLY two sides to the whole issue. Anyone claiming to be in the "middle" is just playing politics.
Much like the WOT - you are either FOR criminals walking freely among us, immune to the law, or you are for the rule of law.
Our president has chosen to come down very solidly AGAINST his own country on this issue. For that, I cannot excuse him or defend him. IN fact, GW's position on immigration totally undermines the WOT, and makes it a laughing stock.
If/When the RATs win back the House, Senate, and/or Whitehouse, we can place the blame squarely on the shoulders of our beloved spineless Republican legislators and our POTUS.
America - land of liberty - How I will miss you when you are gone. Far too many patriots paid for you with their life, blood, families, and hearts. Yet today's politicans and liberals discard you like yesterday's garbage. Those who love who you truly are/were have slept far too long, have kept their mouth shut far too long, have capitulated far too many times. It's now do-or-die time. We either stand for you and what you represent, or we crawl under a rock and pretend that nothing ever happend - and let you fall away into oblivion....
Well said Battman. It is time to choose sides. The side I choose does not include open borders and globalism. So no matter what good Bush has done in office, and I voted for him twice, he is not on my side in this most important issue of the future of the sovereignty of the U.S.
He observed that these people felt that if the Leftist radicals really acted up that would only make McCarthy look more reasonable and hence advance his chances for election. Kunen described these people as "the left wing of the ruling class." And he noted: "We were also offered Esso (Rockefeller) money. They want us to make a lot of radical commotion so they can look more in the center as they move to the left." So the 60s Leftists got Rockefeller money and now the illegal immigrant groups who wish to sever the Southwest from the rest of the country are getting Rockefeller funding also. Something smells and it's not Swiss cheese!

I'm glad some others are learning such facts. Thanks.
The United States, not to be outdone, is sending two million replacement Mexicans.
