They don't have the last word and a much, much better world is coming. We just have to do the best we can with this one and be prepared for the one that counts.

Amen!
Dear FR friends, has ANYONE figured out as this dust settled what is the truth of this issue?

I still don't know. But watching O'Reilly tonight with the Border Patrol head about this issue . . .
My impression was that the Border Patrol head was flatly denying the essence of the story.
HOWEVER, he did seem to acknowledge that they did report to Mexico and what they reported was still fuzzy to me but it seemed like he was saying that they do report to Mexico what is wise to report about civilians/Minute Men in order to insure safety or some such.
He came across to me as very defensive and spouting canned party line. Then his explanation sort of sounded to me like one hand was denying and the other hand was saying that they did something similar to what was alledged but not that specific thing.
I think I came away believing O'Reilly more than the Border Patrol fellow.
O'Reilly seemed to end the session saying he hoped it wasn't true but that if it was . . . there would be h*ll to pay. And, O'Reilly seemed to acquiese that the MM probably called what the Border Patrol admitted doing in talking to Mexico--that the MM probably labeled that action as giving Mexico recon on the MM.
I think the picture is still muddy but will be interesting to see how it clears up and what facts are left standing.
At that I usually leave because I can tell that they are just trying to get into a flame war. I only debate people anymore that are capable of doing so without all the vitriol. This does not include the two posters you mentioned or a couple others I could mention

Nice to see such wisdom.
Amen. And you are correct to point out that party splits and reformations were the normal state of our nation's political history. That stagnation, apathy, blind loyalties and outright unconstitutional agendas have become the norm proves that we have to go back to our founders' original framework of representational government.
What I said before that I think is true is either:
#1 They are flatly denying it and it did not happen.
or
#2 That they are saying certain things by definition didn't happen, but by another definition, they did exactly happen.
I still don't know either.
That's my impression, too.
Time will tell.
If it is a false story, there will be reporters needed to give up their sources.
Nice to see such wisdom.
Are you another one of those people who are freaked out about the Minutemen being armed?
