Current Poll - 13% of members will turn it over to the rats????

Posted on 05/06/2006 9:51:50 AM PDT by Sonora

Current poll:

"A time for choosing: It appears that a significant number of our members are so disgusted with the GOP's failure to secure our borders against illegal aliens that they are willing to risk all by voting them out of office, even if it means Pelosi, Reid, Hillary, et al, are allowed to take charge. Is this the best course of action or should we be working harder than ever to hold the line and actually try to make a difference by getting more constitutionally-minded conservatives elected? Are you willing to give it all up or are you more determined than ever to keep the Marxists out of power?" _____

So far, 13% of members and 18%+ of participants in this poll say - turn it over to the rats. What's with that? I cannot believe that 13% of those posting here are so stupid or angry with what is happening that they would turn to the rats for the way back to perfect. Now, 13% will result in a winning vote, in a lot of cases.

Anyway, I guess that there is no compromising for some people - just dig a hole and live there while the rats are in charge. I'm so disappointed.

There are also some Dems with the principles of Zell, that probably would vote a decent Conservative Party ticket. Those who love this great country see both current parties trying to weaaken her at every turn. It's time to clean up this mess.

I don't know how we're going to get back at that activism, but it's vital.

Vote Republican...

UNLESS YOU WANT ......higher taxes which will be funding more and more failed social programs, a weakened military/national defense and intelligence agencies, socialized healthcare and a Marxist mentality, pro-abortion legislation and taxpayer-funded abortions, criminals voting and deciding who’s in charge of the country, tax and spend mentality, constant doom & gloom, negativity and ‘crisis mode’ politics, pandering to foreign entities and relinquishing US sovereignty to the UN (United Nations of Crooks, Liars and Thieves), more anti-gun and anti-Christian legislation, ever bigger government (even in peace-time), a continued dumbing-down education system, a stand for nothing mentality, pro-gay legalized marriage, anti-capitalist/anti-big business, higher and higher gas prices due to leftist environmental ‘concerns’, blatant elitism while pandering to low/no income constituents who don’t PAY taxes, a utopian society (like in France), open borders and illegals voting and deciding which socialist they want running America, more pro-terrorist/anti-Jewish mentality, anti-democracy mentality, and pretty much anti-everything that doesn’t further the DemOcRats' ONLY aim, goal and agenda in life.... to regain power!

I get all that by voting republican. I'll vote Conservative, thanks.

When an enemy does something horrible to you, you are not surprised or particularly upset. It is expected. But when a friend betrays you it hurts deeply. I waited and worked patiently for forty years to achieve the dream of a Republican Congress with a Republican President and this is what the wait was for?

-A Congress as corrupted by pork as the Rat Congress. -A budget so bloated it makes Clinton look frugal.

-No action on making the tax cuts permanent, or securing our borders, or reforming the tort system, or fighting for conservative lower court justices, or cutting spending.

All we got was a monstrous, unnecessary budget buster of a prescription drug plan, an intrusive money pit of an education bill that we let Ted Kennedy write, and an amnesty program for the illegals that are straining our social services and destroying our country. I used to send thousands of dollars to the RNC. Now, when I get their appeals I write "When you start promoting Republican principles again, I'll start sending money again. The worst part is they don't seem to understand the trouble they are in. When lifelong supporters such as myself feel so disgusted and betrayed that we don't care about returning these corrupt phony conservatives and charlatans to office the RNC better start getting that their house is on fire and get off their a*ses. I funnel all my political giving through the Club for Growth. They know the difference between a RINO and a Patriot and unfortunately there are currently more of the former than the latter in the Republican party. To say that the GOP deserves reelection because they are less socialist than the other guys is absurd. We are still going to hell on a train. We used to be able to argue that the Republican train was taking us there slower. It is hard to make that case anymore. Bush has destroyed the Republican majority just like Clinton destroyed his Democratic majority. If anyone from the White House or RNC is tuned in, message number one is START CARING MORE ABOUT WHAT YOUR SUPPORTERS THINK THAN WHAT YOUR ENEMIES THINK. AGGRESSIVELY PUSH A CONSERVATIVE AGENDA AGAIN, AND MAYBE YOU CAN HOLD THE HOUSE AND STAVE OFF THE IMPEACHMENT TRIAL THAT WOULD SURELY FOLLOW A RAT TAKEOVER.

Hey the poll (on a conservative website) is up to almost 20% for dumping the party! Somebody in the GOP better be paying attention instead of making excuses like you!

I don't subscribe to the herd mentality...when the herd is going after this president on one issue...illegal immigration.

Lots of other more serious stuff is going on these days...and Nancy Pelosi and Teddy Kennedy are not equipped to handle them.

3 issues for me.

1. War on Terror
2. Supreme Court judge picks
3. reduce taxes
4. build a fence

as long as those 3 are covered I will vote republican. As for this November my state is a lost cause. half the durn people that work in this state WORK for the state, and get to retuire at 55.. while I foot the bill.

Well stated - at this point in our history, all can be lost if, for example, the next decade is given over to the rats - the impact would be less if Iran, etc. did not have an agenda to kill all of us - but even without the terror war, rats could create laws, etc. that would take 100 years to reverse.

I do wonder, are the posters here that simply will not vote for a RINO or will no longer vote for a Republican, but continue to have issues that at least some Republicans are working on, but no rats are working on (actually, they are working against those issues) any better or smarter than the stupid Americans that don't think about voting at all? I'm thinking that those people are no better than trailer trash - perhaps just one click above as at least they are thinking about something.

After reading all these responses, I fear for the safety of our Country. We are cruisin' for a bruisin' at the polls in November, big time. Are we collectively that stupid?

Your position is well stated, but I consider you part of the problem, not part of the solution. Your willingness to maintain a minority position and give up on the Republican Party is included in my definition of insanity, politically speaking.

You will end up with about as much power as the Communists. You simply don't have a clue - you are the one that will end up pounding sand.

There was a lot of cross overs from both sides of the aisle who voted for Perot. In the end, all it did was give us the Clinton's -- a decision a lot of us made the country is still paying for to this very day.

If there was a choice between a benign candidate on the left and the right and a good third party candidate my bet is he/she would still only get 1/3 of the vote.

You still don't get it! That ONE issue is the straw that broke the camels back... it's a LOT of failures of leadership in the GOP ignoring the ideals of the conservative base that GOT THEM ELECTED! And that straw is an extremely SERIOUS issue of national security!

That ONE issue, can see this country undone!

The way the Republicans are acting, that's going to end up happening either way unless something is done to turn things around. And there's nothing like tough love to help accomplish that.

Why do you think Bush has finally gotten around to making a veto threat against the pork in the spending bill currently before Congress? Is it because he's seen the light after all this time? I seriously hope you're not naive enough to believe that. It's because he responds to pressure from his base.

History backs me up though. We went how long 50 years with the DEMs in power? What happened? Were we over taken by the Soviets? Was the nation anywhere near on the brink of socialism that it is today? No. Why? Because The Conservatives fought the fight as the minority. Actually they were the majority IF you leave party name out of it. Conservatism gained so much ground in the late 70's - mid 1990's that it took control of both houses.

Now you would think the GOP would use that to undo some of the negative aspects of LBJ's Great Society. Instead it became an enabler to it and George W Bush as POTUS on social programs has became LBJ-2. The GOP in mid 1996 as it is todays is literally obsessed at retaining both houses at all cost and that is the problem. Remember Bob Dole ran Liberal and lost. Had Gore not been tainted so would have Bush and by a wide margin too. Bush & Gore are too much alike politically is the problem. As for the GOP leadership? They will do any compromise that they believe will win them Liberal support even at the expenses of selling out their own base.

The fear of the DEMs in this forum is utterly ridiculous it has long passed the point of simply being a reasonable concern about liberals. In doing so they toss aside DEMs who may well be far more Conservative than the Rockefeller Republicans. I like my DEM governor much better than my last one who was a two termer Republican. The GOP will have a very difficult time defeating him. If the GOP runs another Don Sundquist as it's candidate I'll vote for the current Dem no question about it. Right now he is the conservatives friend and the Liberals worse nightmare. He is far more conservative than the previous one although I disagree with him on issues like education.

He took the state out of a budget crisis and brought Hillary Care into accountability. The Rockefeller Republican we had before him simply kept trying to pass a state income tax and was bankrupting the state budget.

Fear the DEMs above all else is being used as a manipulation means of promoting fear to get bad Republicans reelected. It only does the GOP & the nation great harm to let it flourish. When we have persons posting Orrin Hatch would make a great USSC Justice it shows a very varied GOP base with this forum as well. Forget the parties and take each candidate on their own personal merit. If they represent your views support them and vote for them. Forget the party name it means nothing anymore anyway and I do mean that. D&R after names now is simply a selling tool for the sheeple to be herded by from party tyrants and nothing else.

If people want Conservative Constitution abiding leaders then they need to vote for only such leaders and toss others out of office. In the long run even within an election cycle or two positive change will be the result of it. That is the solution the framers gave us. To do less enables tyranny to rule the nation by enabling it.
