"As my Dad who was a Lutheran minster always said, you can't worry about it, all the signs of the end of the Earth have been present throughout history. We are no unique."
Perhaps you and he should look more closely at the Bible. We ARE living in prophetic times. Back in 1948 when Israel became a country ... things picked up. Surely you know the significance of that.

There have ALWAYS been GREAT quakes. Has nothing to do with end times.

Sounds like you've watched a little too much Jack Van Impe!
It is not for us to know or guess about the end times. When they come, they come.
To: nmh
Well, I didn't get a chance to read your messages, since it was pulled by the moderators. Did you say something mean about non-Christians in it? Did you say they were going to Hell?
Whenever I see a pulled message, I know that the person who wrote it said something ugly. That's not nice, nmh!

I was watching a program that concluded that the Apocalypse should have happened between 1901 and 1945 based on natural disasters and world events. It didn't, so I guess we can all sleep at night.

Order of magnitude plus smaller. A 9 is 10 times stronger than an 8, which is ten times weaker than a 7, etc.

"I was watching a program that concluded that the Apocalypse should have happened between 1901 and 1945 based on natural disasters and world events. It didn't, so I guess we can all sleep at night."
People have been predicting the apocaolypse for over 2000 years now. So far, not sign of it. Yet, earthquakes happen every day. There's always a war somewhere.
It seems to me like some folks are hoping for the end times. That'll get rid of all the pesky people they don't like, doncha know.

Correct that. Only a Tsunami Watch has been ordered by the Nat. Waether Service.
To: CedarDave
A 7.8 is still an extremely strong earthquake. Our area rode out a 7.9 a few years ago and a kazillion aftershocks (ok, maybe not a kazillion of them...but thousands. LOL)

They expect that a Tsunami should hit FUJI within 30 minutes from now. 90 minutes for New Zealand
