And what would Qadhafi expect Jews and Christians to chant during al-Jamra?

Why would we want to follow a pagan Arab ritual and participate in a pilgrimage to Mecca?

I remember during the 1970s or so. Qadhafi published a "Little Green Book" (of course imitating Mao's "Little Red Book"!) It was implied that it had 'equal (or even a little more!) authority' then the Koran in Libya. Of Qadhafi was denounced as a heretic.
He is now trying to transform himself from a "revolutionary" terrorist thug into just a plain "thug". Qadhafi always is full of weird surprises of course he is trying to insure his family's continuing hold on Libya.
It is said his eldest is western educated and oriented in his outlook. I guess only time will tell.

I bet Bush would be on that prayer rug in a minute, if invited.

"As strange as he is, he sounds more moderate than most. It almost sounds like what Islam purports itself to be."
IIRC isn't this the reason Malcolm X was killed? Seems like after a pilgrimage to Mecca, he became convinced that the true message of Islam was that all men of the earth were supposed to work together for God.
If I'm mistaken someone stop me before I "stupid" again.

Only if it were stamped 'Made in Mexico'.

I wish you folks would lighten up on the Colonel; he's not been the same since his buddy Billy Carter died.

Don't know about that, but I do know what I was taught-the Koran acknowledges Judaism and Christianity as religions. Don't know much more beyond that-I know that many posts here and other articles show that Islam is to one day exterminate them.
Like I said-not sure of what the book says-I do know what I see of the actions of the Muslim "Faith"

I understand that at first Mohammed considered Jews,Christians and Zoroasters all of the book and even stated that 10% of Mecca should be populated by Christians, but then his first wife dies, who was a Christian,he changed his mind.

Isn't it the anniversary of the '86 strike on him? Perhaps Lionel Ritchie is a moderating influence on him also.
