Just a reminder: Free Republic is a conservative site

Posted on 04/11/2006 3:33:35 AM PDT by Jim Robinson

Just a reminder: Free Republic is a conservative site. We fight for conservative principles, values and causes. We defend the Constitution. We defend our borders. We defend our God-given rights. We are opposed to the liberal/socialist/Marxist agenda for America. We do not willingly give up ground to the Marxists.

It's true that the illegal immigration issue is very discouraging, and I don't know if anyone has a solution that will appeal to conservatives and yet manage to get by Democrat obstructionism, ie, a filibuster, but I don't see that as any reason to give up everything. We should not allow it to rip us apart and destroy the movement. We fight on.

We hold the majority. We continue working as hard as we possibly can to elect as many conservatives as we possibly can. We build a conservative majority that can overcome the Democrats and the RINOs. We do not willingly give up any seats to Democrats. We add seats. Preferably, conservative seats.

I would also like to remind everyone, that Free Republic does not condone racism and does not advocate violence. We exercise our first amendment rights to free speech and peaceable assembly. We do not condemn people because of their race, religion, ethnicity, skin color, etc. We do not advocate civil war, anarchy, or an overthrow of the government. We do not advocate shooting illegals or mining the borders. We do not appreciate people coming across our borders illegally, but as conservatives, we do not issue racial epithets or threaten them with violence or bodily harm.

And, yes, we are at war. And we do support our troops and their mission. We also respect our commander-in-chief and are mindful that when people disrespect him, it hurts troop morale. We do not appreciate the mainstream media's attempts to destroy America's will to fight and we do not do anything to assist the Democrats and their accomplices in the media in their treasonous mission of undermining the war effort by providing aid and comfort to the enemy.

And despite our dissatisfaction and disappointments in regards to the illegal immigration issue, we recognize that it is not the last issue on earth and there are plenty of other reasons not to allow the Marxist Democrats to retake power.

I'll list a few issues (by no means and exhaustive list) that will be adversely affected by Marxist/Democrats in power:

Islamofascism/terrorism
National Security/Defense
The United Nations (as in their control over us)
The Supreme Court
The federal judiciary
The legislative agenda
The right to life
Marriage between one man, one woman
The family
Education
Health care
Private property
Taxation
Oil/energy
The right to keep and bear arms
The right to freedom of religion
The right to self-governance
All of our God-given rights
The Constitution
The Republic
Liberty itself

Do not get so discouraged that we give it all up. It could take generations to get it back. If ever.

"Securing the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity" is our duty.

JimRob defines what FreeRepublic is...NOT what "Conservative" is.

You hit the nail on the head with that one!

LOL

Hey, if you know a way...
Well, not right off hand. I'd have to think about that.
You don't present small challenges, do you.

"Where the heck did you get ALL from..."

From your answer to my post #988 (read post #988 - it says "all")...not from where the moon don't shine.

Darwin Central is not my term.

My use of this name is only intended to convey a collective group of people who have identified themselves as such...I make no connection to this above-mentioned self-called group of posters and those who believe that it is how our souls were created that defines humanity (whoever these said believers/peoples are).

Interesting philosophical/religious bent on your part though, Vaquero...I didn't know that you had it in you.

So you believe in a creator god (of some sort) and souls that define humanity...

What is your evidence for these?

And all that aside...Do you believe that we have God-given rights and that our Founding Fathers considered the Creator to be the God of the Bible?

Do not get so discouraged that we give it all up. It could take generations to get it back. If ever.

If we lose now, there is no getting anything back. The greatest struggle we as citizens can individually face, and have any real control over, is "Do we drop out of the political process and hope that lights a fire under our party? Or do we continue to vote for those who take us for granted and ultimately ignore us?"

Persuading our Republican't leaders that it is in everybody's best interest for them to follow the Conservative course is tricky.

I could change voter registration to independent, withhold money from everyone except Weldon, Sensenbrenner, Tancredo, and a few others, sending back all fund raising mail from the RINOs and the RNC with a letter of disapproval...in the end, the guys with the 'R' at the end of their name stand the best chance of delaying the inevitable. So in the end, after all that complaining, we still have to pull the lever, 'cause the alternative is President Hillary.

But if 100 million illegal aliens are allowed to enter the country, that will be the last great issue we have any chance of influencing.

It is historical fact that the Creator mentioned in the Declaration of Independence is the God of the Bible.

Attempts to revise, or muddy, the historicity of that fact ("you can take the creator to mean whatever you want") are akin to arguments made by liberals and the ACLU.

When the Creator associated with the Declaration of Independence is mentioned (or the God of the Pledge of Allegiance)...Who is it that makes similar claims to the ones made in post #988 and/or makes claims that someone is trying to revive religious persecution (or even the claim that someone is attempting to create a theocracy)?

Hint...These claims are certainly not consistent with conservatism (and your claims are hysterical...almost like Cynthia McKinney's claims of inappropriate stopping - they have no basis in fact)

Again...(in opposition to what you alleged/reasoned) it is not discriminatory, nor persecutory, nor infringement on one's constitutionally-guaranteed religious freedoms to state, with historical accuracy, that the Creator of the Declaration of Independence, the Establisher of our rights, is the God of the Bible.

(though...only in a liberal's world of revised history)

"But if 100 million illegal aliens are allowed to enter the country, that will be the last great issue we have any chance of influencing."

100% right but we have most of the republican senators and a republican president leading the charge. Electing more of the same will get us another 100 million illegals.

Its a tough situation and I'm not sure what to do. But voting for republicans who are pro big government and pro amnesty is JUST as bad as voting for a democrat. In the end it will lose any power we have.

I'm not voting for anyone who wants amnesty, or any kind of worker program that leads to citizenship, but will gladly vote for any republican who opposes both. Sure we might lose some seats in 2006, but hopefully in 2008 we can elect a congress that is more to the right.

Even if a Rino wins, we lose.

Absolutly its all about Wills and when one loses that they lost every thing!

there was a scene in the Secular Ten Commandment where the Israel had to learn to fight afrer 400 years!

Moses tells those who question him why it is import and the need for them to fight (defend!)

paraphase

Because Freedom is a just cause!

There were a couple of good lessons in that mini series!

"and souls that define humanity...What is your evidence for these?"

I dont....and I dont necessarily believe it exists. I do know that is what religions such as RC and Jewish believe. I am a recovering RC myself. I have no personal beliefs myself. I only have questions which neither of the religions I mentioned nor any other religions have been able to answer. I feel there may be something.

Faith is not my thing. I need to see it in detail.

If so, it has been said incorrectly and you have believed falsely.

BUT............

the beauty is that you can believe whatever you like. As for me....I tire of this...it is going nowhere and I am done writing you for now.

good luck.

Oh, I think JimRob has a LOT to say about defining conservatism currently. And, personally, I'm quite thankful he does. There are far, far, far worse notions afloat while his is very patriotic; very practical; very Constitutional; very Biblically sound; very positive.

Actually, all Jim's cohorts hereon have a hand in defining conservatism currently. FR IS THAT significant in our culture.

Yes and no.

RINO's cost us a lot but not as much, often, as totally clueless liberals. But, yeah, they are all complicit with the globalist puppet masters. Nevertheless:

Losing MORE FASTER

IS

WORSE

than losing less slower.

It is going to be more and more of a problem for conservatism as Republicans/"conservatives" deny the historical reality that our rights are God given.

"Good luck."

Thank you, Vaquero...You too.
