Immigration Rallies Live Thread Day 2
4-10-06 | Danae

Posted on 04/10/2006 8:24:37 AM PDT by Danae

Welcome back all concerned!

Just to clarify, this is a thread discussing both what is happening LIVE across the country as Illegal Immigrants protest their Illegality, and what to do about it. Let's discuss VIABLE options as to what to do about this issue. I have a sneaking suspicion that this "Protest" of American LAW is going to be pretty big. I predict that there is going to be a LOT of pandering to these 11 million or so criminals by our Politicians. I sincerely hope not. To any and all Politicos of all parties, WE the PEOPLE are watching you, and LISTENING to what you are going to say today. 289 million of us LEGAL citizens will see with pristine clarity just WHO in the Political arena is looking out for US, the people who VOTED you into Office in the first place. The biggest question on my mind and perhaps one or two others is: Are you going to protect and serve as you promised and swore to up-hold the Constitution or not? Are you going to up-hold out law or are you going to support the Illegal’s? 298 million to 11 million. You do the math. Let’s roll.

Is that the reason the Mexicans protesting today are being told to wear WHITE T-shirts?

Is it symbolic of wanting US to surrender to them?

Not this August

Oh, you read that book too? A real sleeper, it was. Stunningly prescient, especially for its day (what was it, circa 1953, or '54?)

I read the first edition, and it gave me chills. I later bought the "updated" version, revised by Polh after Kornbluth's death. Haven't read it yet.

Anyone who read 1984 should definitely read Not This August. It's a lot more "gut-level" than Orwell's book. I am surprised it's such a hidden gem.

I've said it many times, those that are against these protests need to organize and publicize the names of those hiring illegal aliens and hit the real problem in the pockebook---THOSE THAT HIRE ILLEGALS. Tysons is a bad offender of this. Also most of the corporate farms in California for starters. You hit these businesses where they hurt with boycots of their products and services and we may see reform, but not until. The bottom line of this is cheap labor for corporations.

I've never read the original edition, actually. I ought to get it since the revised edition, which I picked up at a used bookstore, is one of my favorite books.

The phrase, though, is actually from Hemmingway.

Our lovely Congressmen should not forget the silent majority, people who do not have the luxury of going out on a Monday afternoon and allowing our voices to be heard.

Trust me - they will be getting the word loud and clear on Nov 7, 2006!!!! You just watch . . . .

I really resent the Marxist race pimps pushing this crap. They run about claiming that immigration reform is "anti-immigrant". I guess that they have selective hearing problems because they never hear the word "illeagal" that preceeds the word "immigration". I am very much in favour of LEGAL immigration. Do you wanna take turns holding down a race pimp and smacking them about a bit?

You get pro-illegal stories from the media because the media, since the 1996 Telecommunications act, has been owned by foreigners instead of Americans. Of course they are going to push the internationalist agenda.

The Telecommunications act of 1996 needs to be repealed and foreign ownership of our media eliminated. If you think of it, would be like Tokyo Rose running our major news outlets in WWII. They are NEVER going to give information that will help our citizens stay informed of the issues and make informed decisions as CITIZENS of the United States of America. They are only going to support the internationalist propoganda and internationalist view that America must be destroyed.

Technically someone who enters the country illegally isn't an immigrant at all. Immigration is the legal process which one goes through to gain residency in a given country. Since these people haven't gone through the process they are in no way immigrants.

I prefer the term "trespassers."

I was watching CNN and they had two guys from the DC rally talking about how the illegals were willing to pay the fines and taxes

That is such palpably false BS that I am surprised ANYONE is sufficiently shameless to spout it.

I mean, get real. At $2,000 a head, if MY family were told to pay up or get out, we'd have to head to the bus station. No way can I cough up $6,000 on demand. And I wss born and raised in the USA, never even been to Mexico!

Now, let's ask a migrant, with, oh, let's say six kids and a wife, how HE'S gonna come up with $16,000 dollars!

You wait, mark my words, they will NOT be required to pay these fees. There will be some fine print buried on page 364, saying how they "must pay", OR, "must make statement of affirmation of financial hardhip" -- at which point, they will have to "promise to perform community service in amounts commensurate".

Note the weasel-words? No requirement to PROVE hardship -- just claim it. And likewise, no requirement to actually perform "community service" -- just a "promise" to do so. And, NO enforcement, and no penalties.

Mark my words -- SOMETHING like that will be included in the final giveaway when it makes its way to Whorehay's desk for signing.

No way in the universe are they going to pop these "valued assets" for two grand a head. It just AIN'T gonna happen! LOL!

(Can you imagine the guy with TEN kids? LMAO! $24 thousand bucks, cash on the barrelhead? Yeah, right, ROTFL!)

Illegal Alien is the proper term.

I disagree. Every problem has a solution. The point is whether we as a people are willing to bite the bullet and do what needs to be done. It's like pulling a thorn from your heel. It's going to hurt like almighty hell. Are you going to live your life in pain or do what needs to be done and pull the thorn out? No matter how much it hurts? There is a solution and it's right in the Declaration Of Independence. The question is, are we willing to do our duty?

It's to make the crowd look huge for the cameras.

Well, there is the old term that seems to have fallen out of usage: Illegal Alien. I remember a time, not so very long ago, when "illegal alien" was used to refer to folks who entered the country illegally.

From the context I was pretty sure you were talking about Cyril. :)

I remember Phil Collins singing about being an illegal alien. I'm not sure when the term "immigrant" was hijacked.

Illegal Alien is the proper term.

I prefer "Criminal alien", since it means the same thing (grammatically), but, the modifier has NOT been taken over by the propagandists. The word "illegal", in this context, has become like the word "gay" or "queer" -- divorced from its original meaning, and imbued with a meaning of the propagandist's choice, bearing no semblance to the original.

So, I call them "Criminal aliens" -- and I challenge the propagandists to try screwing with THIS nomenclature! Let's see them try lecturing us on how we treat "law-abiding criminal aliens"!
