A live delay in broadcasting? It's amazing what they can accomplish with technology these days! :-p

They asked hjim about his aids - he said he was disappointed in them but that he is the most investigated man in Washington and yet they found nothing

Delay said this was the worst day of his Democratic opponants campaign becauser he had been getting large amounts of Hollywood money that would now dry up.

Which is why he is stepping down. Yeah makes sense! No perception of guilt there.

They asked hjim about his aids
Now that is a shock...and defamatory to boot.

I'm sick of Republicans caving.

I think the sound bite will be "I am more interested in building the Republican majority than my own future."

The strength of conservatism for me has always been we do not place people above our ideas.

Liberals are still clinging to clintons as key to winning, course they are reliant upon the Soros money pot to fund their little gods.

I commend Tom Delay for sticking to the foundation of conservatism, it is NOT about him.

Too late for that:
the GOP primary is over, and now there's no GOP candidate in DeLay's district.

Surely he would not have done this if there were no way to pick a new Republican

In a decade or so, DeLay will be back on the TV as a consultant, contemplating a run for the White House.

[Sounds like Gingrich, doesn't it.]

My understanding is that he switches his residence to his Virginia condo which disqualifies him. This gives the GOP the opportunity to replace him. Perry will have the option of calling a special election to fill the balance of the term or allow the vacancy until the Nov. election.

Nah -- in this case it was probably a good political move for the Rs. Delay had become radioactive, and the Ds could have put a lot of money into that campaign to defeat him.

Now, however, it's probably a safe Republican seat.
