And did we ever find out what happened to that pizza delivery kid in Pennsylvania that had the bomb strapped to him?

Later in the afternoon, a police robot was used to remove a parcel from the store,

Wait a minute... maybe this is just Dunkin' Donuts trying to show Tim Horton's who's boss.

"Homicide bomber" has got to be the most retarded label ever invented.

. . .

Fox News makes fools of themselves every time they use this contrived, meaningless, emotional, retarded term. Thanks.

I agree wholeheartedly. Ted Kaczynski was a bomber. Timothy McVeigh was a bomber. If they strapped explosives to their bodies and blew themselves up in the process, they would be suicide bombers.

the District Manager of that Tim Hortons is a guy named Amin Islam.

The World has to do something about the Amish.

Of course, the district manager would have a vested interest in NOT blowing up that particular spot.

The way I figure, there's a good chance that this Amin Islam fellow is a partially Westernized Muslim. You know, the kind that only gets giddy when it's just Jews that are killed in terrorist attacks; the kind that doesn't really want to kill ALL non-Muslims, just most. My guess is that some much more radical Muslim was so offended by Mr. Islam's complacency with Western culture that he intended to strike out against this Islam fellow directly.

Either that, or it's just coincidence.

"Be interesting to see whether or not tests prove a REALLY big f**t can detonate explosives."BR>
It can cause major destruction even without any explosives. After a catastrophic earthquake in Tashkent the joke went as follows: among all the ruins there was a toilet miraculously left standing, with a frightened old man on it. His angry wife was standing nearby, nagging him: "How many times have I told you to go easier and not to strain so much???"

No, "detonated the package" simply means that they blew it up with their own explosives. It's Standard Operating Procedure for the bomb squad. This other package could've been a bomb, but more likely it was somebody's sack lunch.

Yes- TATP is nasty, nasty stuff. Our OU bomber favoured it:

Curiously Canada had just changed over to daylight savings time the night before. There might be a tiny chance it had an effect. Next year Canada is going to synchronize with the US.

The United States just switched last night too.

You are thinking about the change to come next year, when we start earlier, and end DST later in the calender year.

;-)

I've been in exactly one Tim Hortons.

In Trendy Toronto.

Not that one, though. I was in one about a quarter mile away.

Good coffee...

I would bet the dead bomber is a muslim and the 2nd package was a bomb, not donuts.

He must have turned the wrong knob.

I realize this is a gawd-awful time to mention it, but my wife & I have a running joke about the bomb-builders accidentally ( or deliberately ) mis-labelling the "arm" and "detonate" switches.

The 2nd wave of London bombers' TAP bombs failed to detonate correctly, too.
