Homicide bomber? Impossible, not in "tolerant" Canada! Still, prayers for the city and wounded..

TORONTO (CP) - A man died Sunday after an explosion in the washroom of a Tim Hortons doughnut shop in downtown Toronto, police said. They did not immediately confirm reports, by radio station AM-640, that a man had entered the washroom shortly before the blast with explosives strapped to his body. Police said no one else was involved and there were no other injuries. They couldn't say whether the dead man was a customer or an employee. The blast happened at the shop east of Yonge Street and north of Bloor, one of the busiest intersections in the city, at around 1 p.m. local time. Traffic was tied up in the area and Yonge Street was closed in both directions. Fire department spokesman Daryl Fuglerud said the man had burns to his body. A tiny bit more information. In Canada damaging a Tim Hortons is high treason.

In the restroom.
Suppose maybe he was planting the device and it went off prematurely?

One man is dead following an explosion at a Tim Hortons restaurant in downtown Toronto.
The blast occurred in the washroom of the coffee shop located near the intersection of Yonge and Bloor Streets, just after 1 p.m.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and tried to help the victim. Fire department spokesman Daryl Fuglerud said the man had burns to his body.
"There was a very small amount of smoke upon our arrival
It doesn't appear that we can see much of a fire at all," Fuglerud said.
It is not known if the victim was a customer or an employee. No other injuries were reported.
Witnesses describe a scene of panic inside the restaurant after the explosion.
"As soon as we heard (the) bang, everybody run away," witness George Ribera told CTV's John Musselman.
Police cordoned off approximately one city block and evacuated the area as a precaution.
"We're taking all precautions for members of the public as you can imagine," Toronto Police officer Nick Memme said.
Police are investigating the cause of the explosion. Memme said it is too early in their probe to draw conclusions.
"It's very early on in the investigation," Memme said.
"As I've stated we're just holding our pattern until various other support units come into the area and again, look at the safety aspect and we will continue the investigation."
Yonge Street is currently shut down in both directions between Yorkville and Bloor as police investigate. Downtown traffic is reportedly tied up due to the closure of one of the city's busiest intersections.
There is no word yet on what caused the blast. Emergency crews and police are on the scene.
More to come

This seems to be the work of an individual nut case ... doubt if there's a terrorist connection.
