I'm at home, and I don't do 'Timmy's', so I'm OK.

I'm pleased to hear it-- my normal aversion to herds of people increased dramatically after 9-11. Especially confined spaces full of people ( subways ) and stadiums.

Google the old Bruce Dern flick "Black Friday," and imagine an airship used as a claymore mine...

It was only a matter of time before it started here.

At least no innocents were harmed on the first try.

Is it busy on Sunday though? Anything special going on?

Yonge and Bloor is one of the busiest areas in Toronto, lots of shops, big subway, Sunday is the day everyone gets out and walks around, shops, etc. especially if the weather is good, this could have been a disaster if this clown intended to blow himself up in the subway.

Something forced this person to commit suicide today and made him feel that his life was no longer important. What happened to this man, and what can we all learn from it?

What happened to him? He blew himself up. What can we learn from it? We can learn that he's dead.

BTW: Did you eat a lot of paint chips when you were a kid?

Maybe a silly question, but why would someone intending to blow himself up bother to go to the bathroom?

Because if you don't go before you go you'll be uncomfortable for all eternity.

Didn't you read your Bible?

Hello??? Damnation without relief...

So are insurgents/terrorists merely innocent civilians when they're between attacks and have some free time on their hands?

No, they're big bad doody head. Feel better? Gotta make sure the news appeals to your emotions, right? Who are the insurgents? That guy Zarquawi, it seems to me, is a terrorist. The tactics he employs, such as beheading civilians and putting the video on the net, are terroristic.

But what about that guy Sadr? He seems to be an insurgent to me. He's an Iraqi religious nutbag who was trying to gain political control and resist the US/Coalition presence. To me, that's an insurgent.

Personally, I think terrorists are worse than insurgents, because they intend to kill civilians and generally use a baser form of mayhem than insurgents. And I don't need the media to label the Iraqi insurgents as poopy heads for me. I already know which side I'm on. Just tell me what's happening. I'll decide how to feel about it.

Toronto Police Service Insp. Nick Memme said the explosion occurred "in the washroom area" at the back of the shop.

Did he light a cigarette after farting?

Well, I can't give you medical advice, but if you think it'll make you feel better, call your pharmacist and give it a try! Good luck!

Terrorists and insurgents are the same thing if both are rebelling against a civilian government!

AM 640

TORONTO/AM640 TORONTO - An explosion in Downtown Toronto has left one person dead in a Tim Horton's coffee shop this afternoon.

Police sources tell AM 640 Toronto Radio that a man was seen walking into the bathroom of the shop just after 1 o'clock, with some sort of device attached to his body. We are being told that batteries and wires were found near and around the body.

Emergency Task Force and Bomb Squad investigators are currently on the scene and are looking for any secondary devices. The identity of the man is not know, and the body is still on the scene. And we are also hearing that Toronto Police are being told to be cautious around any Tim Horton's in the city, as another Tim Horton's has been evacuated at 3222 Yonge Street after a suspicious package was found. That shop is located on Cranbrook and Yonge, just North of Lawrence.
Police are not releasing much more info, as they are still gathering information.
Darryl Fuglerud, a Fire Department Spokesperson says Fire crews are awating a safety call before they can take over.
Yonge Street is closed between Bloor and Yorkville. Stay with AM 640 for more information on this breaking news.

It not only looks like he got the time wrong, he also miscalculated the amount of explosives required. I don't think the force even blew off the washroom door - maybe his cubicle, but not the door.
By the way, Canadian police are notorious for not releasing information about anything at anytime. They will let you know what happened "when we have finished our investigation" or, "after we have notified the next of kin", etc., etc.
You may get this guys name in about one week.

"So are insurgents/terrorists merely innocent civilians when they're between attacks and have some free time on their hands?"

No they are soldiers. Those who blow up civilian targets are terrorists, and deserve to be shot when found (after they were tortured to get intel), but those who just use IED's and attacks on legit military targets are insurgents. If Iraq was occupying America, I'd sure as hell set bombs on the road and blow them up when their convoys go by. Plus whats the difference between a roadside bomb and a cruise missile?

This doesn't mean we shouldn't find and kill them, but if we label EVERYONE a terrorist, it defeats the purpose of having the word terrorist.

Smoking in the restroom of a public building is a no-no in The Great White North isn't it?
Perhaps that's their new enforcement method?
Can't have that second hand smoke.
