So really, if it's IEDs designed to hit our troops, to me, those are insurgents, not terrorists. If they blow up a Mosque or a coffee shop, that's terrorism.

So are insurgents/terrorists merely innocent civilians when they're between attacks and have some free time on their hands?

It would be interesting to learn what pushed this person beyond his "line in the sand" and forced him to commit suicide. These are lessons that each and every one of us may learn from.

You are kidding, right?

LOL, the personal life of the "journalists" do make it interesting why they would have sympathy for Islamic suicide bombers over the decades, while condemning the Jews and saying they ask for it, but rightfully had none for the US KKK, never asking why?

I guess their outrage about murder, depends on who is being murdered, not the murder itself.

Very typical of the leftwing moral relativism.

By the way, homicide's a legal term, isn't it? Should homicide bombers be tried in court, then? With a jury? Or should they be re-renamed, uh, combative bombers? Or, uh, terrorist doody head bombers? Whatever it is, let's make sure it makes clear we think their real mean rotten people, or else us ignorant fools might not be able to figure it out on our own!

One backpack has a computer or timepiece hooked up which adjusted itself for Daylight Savings time - maybe purchased in the US - comrades could still be on schedule?

Remember the Pizza guy who was detonated? Maybe this guy was similarly forced into this, and was trying to minimize collateral damage? Just a possibility.

They couldn't say whether the dead man was a customer or an employee.

May I suggest a third alternative?

Perhaps adjusting the dosage? Maybe a change of pharmacies is in order?

The location of Tim Horton's is just a short distance (a few yards) from the entrance to the largest subway station in Toronto.

I think you nailed it.

Yeah, I was thinking that if it was preset and he didn't change his watch he might have thought he had time for a cup of coffee and some "heavenly donuts"

No, I am not kidding!

Something forced this person to commit suicide today and made him feel that his life was no longer important. What happened to this man, and what can we all learn from it?

My guess is a recent divorce, but that is only my wild interpolation of the scarce information known to us so far.

Blast at Toronto doughnut shop kills man

Last Updated Sun, 02 Apr 2006 15:02:00 EDT
CBC News

A man died in an explosion at a Tim Hortons outlet in downtown Toronto on Sunday and the investigation has tied up traffic at one of the city's busiest intersections, police say.

The blast took place just after 1 p.m. EDT at the doughnut store, which is on Yonge Street near the intersection with Bloor Street.

Police said the victim was not a Tim Hortons employee.

Toronto Police Service Insp. Nick Memme said the explosion occurred "in the washroom area" at the back of the shop.

Man was burned

Daryl Fuglerud, a spokesman with Toronto's fire department, told reporters the man who died had burns to his body.

"It doesn't appear that there was much of a fire at all," Fuglerud said.

"There was a very small amount of smoke upon our arrival."

Fuglerud said the investigation has been turned over to police because it was a "possible criminal" case.

No one else appears to have been injured in the blast.

Details were still emerging about what exactly happened.

Police evacuate one block

Police said they evacuated a one-block area after the blast was reported.

"We're taking all precautions," Memme said.

Traffic has been tied up throughout the area. Yonge Street – the busy north-south artery through the city – has been closed in both directions in the immediate area.

Emergency officials and an explosives disposal unit was called to the scene.
