High School Kid Who Burned Mexican Flag Arrested And Charged With Arson
FreeRepublic ^ | 3/31/06 | kstewskis

Just got home from work, and was listening to Joe Crummy on KFYI interview one of the dads of the kids that burned the Mexican flag:

Apparently, his kid was arrested by AJ Police and was held in detention in Florence all day yesterday. CHarged with Arson. It took all of their savings to get a retainer for an atty.

It gets better. The family is now getting death threats. They were informed by police that there are those trying to find out where the family lives, and are going after them. AJ police stated to the father, there is nothing they can do about it, until someone actually shows up on their property.

Also, there was another kid from the school (Rod, who said he was a "future" Marine) read that letter from the school, forbiding any kid to wear any article of clothing resembling or representing a flag, no matter what country it represents.

He said emphatically, that he *will* wear the US Flag to school Monday.

Apparently this flag burning was near the ROTC table.

My respect for the kids in AJ have grown a hundred fold!

i dont get it. I looked over his posts in your link on post 194 and dont see anything suspension worthy. Did you hear of any reason why travis mcgee was suspended ?

Somewhere below where all the posts were ripped out, tiredoflaundry posted:

"We do not talk to folks like that on the Tony thread."

Sounds like Travis was suspended because he peed in the punchbowl on a thread where BS decorum and celebrity worship are the most important requirements. IMHO.

My School, back in the day (recall, I'm from Canada), flew the UN Flag alongside our national flag. I hated it and complained about it for four years.

I wish I'd had the courage these kids had, to haul the thing down and burn it.

For some reason apopros of nothing, I recall the account in Plutarch's life of Themistocles where he tells of how, during the Persian Wars, the Persian King sent an ambassador to the Greeks to demand their submission. In response, Themistocles seized the Ambassador's interpreter and put him to death on the spot for daring to publish barbarian decrees in the Greek language.

Thank God we still have people of such spirit today. May God secure them.

Amen to that. I just hope that we have enough of 'em.

I'll go burn a flag if they have a burning. Small towns like that can’t afford to arrest large groups. They have to pay for everyone they lock up. Nor can they afford a bunch of civil right suits.

Nobody except the ACLU, mecha, la raza, etc

And Michael Moore. These recent tensions over immigration may prompt another crockumentary once "Sicko" and the Katrina flick are done.

Civil war is on the way bought to you by pandering US elected officials that are pandering for votes from people who have no damn business even being in this country. Foreign criminals are now writing our national border defense and immigration policy.
