Just got home from work, and was listening to Joe Crummy on KFYI interview one of the dads of the kids that burned the Mexican flag:
Apparently, his kid was arrested by AJ Police and was held in detention in Florence all day yesterday. CHarged with Arson. It took all of their savings to get a retainer for an atty.
It gets better. The family is now getting death threats. They were informed by police that there are those trying to find out where the family lives, and are going after them. AJ police stated to the father, there is nothing they can do about it, until someone actually shows up on their property.
Also, there was another kid from the school (Rod, who said he was a "future" Marine) read that letter from the school, forbiding any kid to wear any article of clothing resembling or representing a flag, no matter what country it represents.
He said emphatically, that he *will* wear the US Flag to school Monday.
Apparently this flag burning was near the ROTC table.
My respect for the kids in AJ have grown a hundred fold!

I've got plenty of Ammo, although there is not a Mexican living in the vicinity for 10 miles, although the Consulate is three blocks away! Do they have a flagpole?

This situation is what this amendment to the Constitution was about. Without the citzens' right to organize to protect themselves no "professional police" can ever be trusted to protect them, because they simply won't or can't. As the Korean shopowners in the LA Riots, and the Hassidic community in the NY Crown Heights riots discovered, the police will not protect you if doing so has political consequences from a more-favored voting bloc

You wonder which side the ACLU will take? I know which side they should take--the "fRag" burner; BUT, I'm sure the side they take will be the "fRag" owner.
Remember, ACLU stands for Alien Communists Lousy Union.
Cheers. /s

Does that apply to the flag of a foreign country on American soil?

Joe Crummy bump... he's pretty good for a Crummy guy...I'm glad he finally got (what appears anyway) to be a permanent gig. I used to listen to him every chance I got in LA...though it was kind of tough to figure out where is was. Now, thanks to the internet, I can listen to him every day.

I'd be willing to be that burning a UN flag would carry a penalty as well. What would be the penalty for replacing all the flags at the UN with Old Glory?

Where I live the Mexicans staged a pro emigrant rally... and someone had the nerve to show up with an American flag and was shouted down and basically assaulted, by people waving Mexican flags.
These people don't want to be Americans, we need to throw them the hell out!

Three points:
First, flag disposal educate extends to non U.S. flags.
Second, any ownership anyone had regarding this flag was forfeited by (trespassing, assumable) and running it up a flagpole that did not belong to them. Putting your property in a place where you have no right to retrieve it amounts to giving up ownership. The same way you would give up ownership if you flushed it down the toilet.
Thirdly, by your definition of arson if you were a smoker and took a cigarette out of my pack (or for that mater, a butt from an ashtray) and lit up, you would be guilty of arson. Sorry, but that's "Crazy Talk".
To: lowbridge
so were the Mexican kids charged with trespassing for running their flag up someone else's flag pole?
or is this one of those crimes you can only be guilty of if you are white?
To: babygene
exactly!
that like charging me with theft for picking up the trash someone threw in my yard.
To: mass55th
It is coming. Civil War is really coming. All the Mex's need is 'Glorious Leader' promising wealth and power for the 'downtrodden.'

The kid was arrested and held by the police for arson and the family is getting death threats This doesn't surprise me. The chickens are coming home to roost.
To: King Prout
