This may not be of interest to many, but I found it interesting. I´m on vacation in Argentina (Buonos Aires) and have found that FreeRebublic is banned at many of the Internet Cafes.
Fortunately, I can use Remote Desktop to get to my PC at home and browse from there.
I also tried democraticunderground.com, and that does work. What did FreeRepublic.com ever do to Argentina?!
I sure hope we're banned in Saudi Arabia!
"majority of us wish that Margaret Thatcher could have somehow been Ronald Reagan's vice-presidential choice"....
Isn't THAT the truth.
You don't remember last October when we launched that major offensive against them, captured their crown jewels and brought them back here to trade for bandwidth? Americans have such short memories.
We're a frightening lot.
In general the people there are very fine and civilized, and you're probably safer in BA than New York City.
I'm going down later this year myself to open a branch office for my own business.
Well, a certain FReeper has been seen misspelling "Buenos Aires". ;-)
You are sick. You're in Argentina, meat, Euro-Spanish hotties and you are going on line to fix your freep jones? :)

If you Google "free republic" and press "I'm Feeling Lucky", what do you get?

It just comes back to fr.com. They don't f00 with people who might notice.
Thanks folks, just what I thought/expected... my last trip was in the late 60's... so... oh well, I am almost a native anyway, it will be fun.
Yep. Nailed it.
LOL. Oh man, I am SO glad you that asked that and not me.
Thanks for being willing to serve as a warning to others. ; )
Uhm...you may want to check with our regular British, Canadian, French and German Posters about that. ; ).
And the fact that some providers don't block the IP is not a guarantee that others do not.
The police in Britain now watch and photograph demonstrators for 'hate speech' prosecutions (as long as they are not Muslims).
You know you've "made it" when you're not wanted.
I am hearing that people using the Internet at home have no problems. Which cafes were giving you problems.
Interesting.... There are three freepers listed from Argentina. It would be interesting to here their response.
leandroveja Buenos Aires
Javier_vt Venado Tuerto (Santa Fe)
82nd Airborne Dad
Boy what a night that was...but after that JimRob banned us from drinking tequila in the singles thread.
Why would they do that? Seattle isn't as runover by leftists as you might think. There are a lot of conservatives that hang out there. Remember water seeks its own level.
I´m in a different Internet cafe now, and in this one we´re NOT blocked. So, the first one must have it´s own reasons which don´t represent all.
I was in one on French St. Now I´m on another one nearby which is not blocked. Who knows.
