John McCain is running for President 2008. As a republican candidate, John McCain could win the republican nomination. Many feel if John McCain runs against Hillary Clinton, he would win the presidential election in 2008.
John McCain graduated from the Naval Academy in 1958. After graduation, John McCain became a Naval Avaitor. For over 5 years, John McCain was a Vietnam captive. John McCain became a US Senator for Arizona in 1986.
Senator John McCain is now Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, and is known for his successful passing of Campaign Finance Reform.

The Congressional House and / or Senate could very well fall into the hands of democrats in 2008, 2010, 2012. Yes, the Republicans may lose Congress, but I wouldn't bet on it. The last time Hillary was on the national stage, in 1993/94, the Pubbies took the House by storm. There is no reason to assume people will not have the same reaction to her again.
But, even if the 'Pubbies do lose control in one or both Houses of Congress, the Republicans who remain will still oppose her. There will be at least some in the Congress standing in her way. McCain, OTOH, will have the Democrats and the RINOs sewed up, and will be able to cow the Republicans as the leader of the Party. He will have no effective opposition in Congress.
Hillary as President with a congressional house majority is a very scary thought indeed.
But McCain with no opposition in Congress at all is even scarier.
At least Bill Clinton had a GOP house for the majority of his presidency to keep him Hillary from going on a absolute power rampage as co-President.
Bill and Hillary! Clinton created the GOP house majority because people wanted to split power. It seems to me this would probably happen again.
I intensely dislike McCain, but at least I know he is only mentally unstable as opposed to an evil power hungry bitch like Hillary
I fail to see shy you have such a high opinion of McCain. Why would you assume that he is any less evil and power hungry than Hillary!? To me, they are pretty much on the same order-of-magnitude of bad.
It's like choosing to go on a date with either Helen Thomas or Janet Reno. Either way, you're not in for a treat.

John McCain has my respect for his service to our country, but he isn't what I'm looking for in a candidate.
I want a "Reagan Republican" who will cut the budget and shrink the size of the federal government.
