WASHINGTON - The Russian government had sources inside the American military command as it planned and executed the invasion of Iraq in 2003, according to Iraqi documents released as part of a Pentagon report.
The Russians passed information to Saddam Hussein on U.S. troop movements and plans during the opening days of the war, according to the report Friday.
The unclassified report does not assess the value of the information or provide details beyond citing two captured Iraqi documents that say the Russians collected information from sources "inside the American Central Command" and that battlefield intelligence was provided to Saddam through the Russian ambassador in Baghdad.
A classified version of the Pentagon report, titled "Iraqi Perspectives Project," is not being made public.
In Moscow, a duty officer with Russia's Foreign Ministry declined to comment on the report late Friday evening. No one answered the phones at the Defense Ministry.
Sounds good to me.
Sources in the military command? Roadapples!!
If there was info sent to Russians, it came from members of Congress, their staff or planted political appointments.
One is good enough.
Thank you Clintoon's Madeleine Albright.
Has anyone ever been to Russia? This is what usually happens... :0)
Clinton holdovers.
Could it be this one?
that battlefield intelligence was provided to Saddam through the Russian ambassador in Baghdad. ==
Probably true. I remember that during battles the battlefiled info was publicated on Internet too. One guy with nickname "Ramzai" published very detailed information day after day.

Beat you by 10 seconds!
This is a really big story that will gather a lot of attention. It has elements to it which will force the MSM to cover the story---- Russian spies, military intelligence, etc.
Maybe this will convince the general public that we really have big enemies out there, and that it was a mistake to put our faith in Russian's support for dealing with the Iraq situation.
True. If only I hadn't done the image!

I suspect that our military had to give the overall plan to the State Department (most likely area for Commie sympathizers). Nonetheless, spies must be rooted out from wherever they may be working.
This reminds me of those devices the KGB provinded Hussein in early 2003 that were designed to throw cruise missiles off course. Most of them were destroyed- by cruise missiles.
I agree with the theory that the military knew exactly who the leakers were and used them to confuse the enemy. Moscow should be thankful we didn't "accidently" bomb their embassy like we did to China's embassy in Belgrade when they wouldn't stop feeding the Serbs intelligence.
Most Americans still think of Russia as the enemy. The big story here is that some in our military can't be trusted. Let's see how they handle that.

Accually it was GPS suppressors. They emmited waves which suppressed GPS signals then breaks cruise missiles navigation. Very effective things.
As was reported that few of them was destroyed by homing on EMS missiles. Those devices emitted so obviously homing missile can hit it.
The problem was that such device cost about $500 but homing missile cost about $100000. So one side may have thousands of such devices.
