YABBUT....I am watching the riots on TV..and listening to the basketball games on the radio...

however, they are going to be breaking into the NCAA b-ball coverage in about 30 minutes for a press conference here to announce that TERRELL OWENS has signed with the Dallas Cowboys...

BLECH...double blech...I think I will go and protest that!

LOL

So having to actually work over 35 hours a week is what brings this riot on.

Please see Sarah's post. This is not about workweek hours. This is about a revamping of labor contract regulations. The status quo has been challenged. We Americans have had labor unrest, and we condemn child sweatshops and forced prison labor. It will be interesting to see what the french government does.

To appreciate the nuiances of these minor disturbances, one should have some good ciggies, brie, French Wine and a sexy Beret.

By PAUL KRUGMAN

I think we should revoke Paul Krugman's citizenship and send him to France.

This is not legitimate labor unrest. This is a bunch of punk kids, agitated by leftists, rioting because they can get fired if they don't do their job (which is only 35 hours a week (and lots of breaks), with 6 weeks of vacation anyway).

It's much ado about NOTHING. No legitimacy to it.

France is out of control.

Oh, man. PIRATES MSNBC is reporting the US Navy is firing on Pirate ships off the coast of Ethiopia. These people will do anything to have alternate programming to the NCAA tournament. LOL.

Soon, in a act of utter desperation, they will actually begin reporting the truth about Iraq's WMD programs and al queda affiliations.

I was in France (mostly Paris) countless times between '69 and '71, I never saw anyone protest anything. Everybody was very mellow. In the summer of '69, being an American was good for a lot of free stuff in Paris---drinks, show tickets, etc.---on account of the moon landing. They really liked that.

So in a nut shell the French students want to work less, make more money, and never get fired.

No wonder why socialism has failed so miserably.

Wasn't Jane over there around 1971? That's where her brain went south, from what I understand.
