Billie

Some Irish tunes for your listening pleasure. A couple of wave files - full-length, lilting, Irish melodies - they are so beautiful! I hope you can open them, or "save target as" to your hard drive and listen to them later.
"My Wild Irish Rose" ~ John Gary
"I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen" ~ John Gary

MIDIS

"Irish Lullabye"
"The Last Rose of Summer"
"When Irish Eyes are Smiling"
"I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen"
"Danny Boy"

Finest Friends....

May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

Back later.

As a descendant of the Irish Patriot, Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa....This seems like the proper time to share this bit of Irish Humor.......

Q: How did the Irish Jig get started?
A: Too much to drink and not enough restrooms.

RECIPE FOR IRISH STEW:

Get some meat, some potatoes, and a lot of Guinness
Stout.

Drink all of the Guinness Stout.

Forget about the stew.

An authentic Irish Blessing......

"May those who love us, love us
and those who don't love us,
may God turn their hearts,
and if he doesn't turn their hearts,
may he turn their ankles...
so we'll know them by their limping."

An Irish priest and a Rabbi found themselves sharing a
compartment on a train. After a while, the priest
opened a conversation by saying "I know that, in your
religion, you're not supposed to eat pork... Have you
actually ever tasted it?"

The Rabbi said, "I must tell the truth. Yes, I have,
on the odd occasion."

Then the Rabbi had his turn of interrogation. He
asked, "Your religion, too... I know you're supposed
to be celibate. But...."

The priest replied, "Yes, I know what you're going to
ask. I have succumbed once or twice."

There was silence for a while. Then the Rabbi peeped
around the newspaper he was reading and said, "Better
than pork, isn't it?"

Just FYI, “borracho” is not a nice word. You can say “mareado” (male) “mareada” (female.) Y puedes usar otros nombres, pero por el momento, “mareada” is suficiente.

Okay. The only word that I ever learned in classes (high school and college) was borracho. I'll have to write a letter to some Spanish teachers for being slack! :-)
