FReeper Canteen ~ What's The Origin Of Your Screenname? ~ March 16, 2006

What is the origin of your screen name? Come tell us your story.... How'd ya choose your screen name? A situation in your life? Part of a song? Your Military service?
For me, it was three times I came across "Misbehavin" that decided it for me! I bought a blouse that had that on the tag... Then my MIL gave me a book about a cat called Ms.Behavin.. Then I heard the song "Ain't Misbehavin!"
So there ya have it! Have fun! Please, no politics in The Canteen.. We want our troops to rest, relax and relate!
Now tell us YOUR story!! |

LOL...I had four year of German in high school a long time ago, and ran out of Germans to talk to. Had the same problem with sign language too while dating a hearing impaired girl! Use it or lose it they say.
I made the mistake of requesting an assignment in Germany while in the Army. Of course they kept me stateside. If I asked for Hawaii then I would of went to Germany..LOL

A wanna-be Navy-ite Now, there's a thought...join the Navy and learn a foreign language. They'd probably try to teach you Farsi, though.

Well, Vietnamese is similar to southern Chinese dialects in terms of grammar. The sentence structure is fairly straight forward. Verb tenses are achieved via context and, therefore, require folks to pay attention to what they are reading or to what they or others are saying. The added bonus is that they use a latin alphabet! Here is an
example of tiếng việt.
