Kerry takes another look at presidency. Says loss in 2004 made him tougher
The Boston Globe ^ | 3/11/06 | Rick Klein

WASHINGTON -- As Senator John F. Kerry prepared to make a return to presidential-style politics with a classic day of New Hampshire campaigning, he said that the 2004 run left him tougher and more eager to fight.

''When you get knocked on your ass and lose a race, you've got to stop and reflect on what you're doing, why you're doing it, what matters, and what's important. And I did," Kerry said in an interview in his Senate office on Thursday. ''There's a very different John Kerry now who is absolutely crystal clear about how I communicate what I need to communicate. . . . People are going to be looking for leadership."

Kerry's efforts to launch another presidential bid have prompted grumbling from some Democrats, who question whether a second Kerry candidacy would be good for the party -- or even realistic. Some party insiders expect that leading fund-raisers and strategists will push Kerry out before the race starts, in favor of a fresh face for a party desperate to retake power.

But in most respects, the Massachusetts Democrat has never stopped running for president. He has maintained an aggressive financial operation that, since the end of the last campaign, has raised nearly $4 million for Democrats in races across the country, and has sent $3 million of his own campaign funds to help other candidates.

Maybe John himself can shed some light on this.

I don't know, he's pretty modest. I doubt he'd want to talk about it.

Yeah that will be great entertainment. There are 3 or 4 factions in the Dim party : the Klintons, the Kerry/Kennedy faction, the Algore/Dean faction , and maybe a small group of so-called moderates(Warner/Byhe) . None of them like each other , it will be fun to watch . The big question is who will win the power struggle ?

A "fresh face" is not the phrase I would use to describe Mrs. William Clinton.

"Kerry has been more active in the Senate. He pushed through better benefits for families of veterans"....

Most of them suffering from Kerry's stab wounds in their backs

.....and led two major filibuster efforts: to block oil drilling in the Alaska wilderness

Thus making us MORE dependent upon the sheetheads, GOOD MOVE, JERK.

and to stop Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. from joining the Supreme Court.

Boy, Kerry really showed us his stuff there - didn't he?
FAILED AGAIN...

"I am a much better public person-slash-candidate as a consequence of that [campaign.]"

Perhaps, but you're still an asshole that hasn't defined WHAT you WILL DO TO IMPROVE THE SITUATION!

Semper Fi

The real meaning in the fact that Kerry, and others, are actively positionign themsleves for 2008 is that they feel there is a good chance that Hillary won't make the race..

it's pityful that the Boston Globe every few weeks has to do a story on Kerry to remind us he still exists,, this freaking Dork is on coma watch

be interesting to see if the writers were bribed with free skiing vacations at the Heinz's to keep him on lifesupport in the press?

just not a pretty site

I have had the feeling for years that a whole lot of Democrats simply DO NOT LIKE Hillary Clinton personally.
