A Few of FR's Finest...Every Day.......02-15-06....Pets and Friends

Posted on 02/14/2006 10:38:16 PM PST by dutchess

A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

SMILES

Verse:
Dear -ie, now I know just what makes me love you so,
Just what holds me and en -folds me in its gold -en glow;
Dear -ie, now I see 'tis each smile so bright and free,
For life's sad -ness turns to glad -ness when you smile on me;

Chorus:
There are smiles that make us hap -py,
There are smiles that make us blue;
There are smiles that steal a -way the tear -drops
As the sun -beams steal a -way the dew;
There are smiles that have a ten -der mean -ing
That the eyes of love a -lone may see,
And the smiles that fill my life with sun -shine
Are the smiles that you give to me.

Okay...sing-along time!!! (unless your freeping at work!)

We've been back in the house--just have part of a roof on one corner. Some people still have blue roofs; we have black "stuff" on ours. The up-rooted stumps are gone!

*sigh* I just told my hubby that I thought I'd just go back over there with you, because he won't take me! I actually get homesick for Wuertzburg when I see that picture.

Friends Forever

Here we have a photo of a Dog and a Cat
Well, he's my Best Friend. You got a problem with that?!!!
We found each other when I was a kitten lost in a storm
Dashing around in the rain looking for a place to keep warm
My Mother couldn't hear my cries and I was quite forlorn
When I curled up under the porch and was wrapped in a comforting form

When I woke up I could hardly believe
That there was this thing a bit larger than me
Kind of like my Mother and kind of not
Prodding with a cold nose and clumsy paws
To see if I was hurt and was quite relieved
When my ears stayed up as I inched back cautiously

"So, this a Dog" I thought. "And it's a boy
Not much larger than Mother. Or a Human's toy"
As he nudged me out and loped about
Wanting to share some fun under the morning's Sun
Chasing shadows across the yard from edge to edge
When I spied Mother watching from underneath the hedge

Mother sat with her back smooth and her green eyes clear
Her ears pointed up and with no signs of fear
As Rocky and I laughed and played the day away
Watching me approach when it was time to go
I thought Mother would be angry with my escapade
Instead, Mother was pleased with the new friend I had made

LOL.

Are ya on the right thread?

I would love to take you along.

Maybe we can make plans for next year and I can arrange it so that you wouldn't have to pay anything for room and board.

Think about it and talk it over with your hubby.:)

I think I am getting dizzy from trying to keep up! LOL! I have a hard time keeping up with one conversation, much less two!

I just did....and he said "okay"! :o) He would love for me to quit nagging him about it and him not have to travel! LOL! Now if we could just get GB to go with us! Woohoo!

Well, I'm serious about wanting to go! That would just be the most awesome trip! Now I HAVE to go get my passport renewed. I've had my picture for months and have been lazy to get it done. LOL!

I wouldn't be able to go this year anyhow. My boss would fire me. I've already planned 3 trips and she was having a cow, even if I had told her about 2 of them months ago. Especially the one in May with NYT and Lauren.

Well then we have to sit down and chat some more about plans for a trip to Germany together.

We will make it happen some how.

Well Pookie is wanting to go to bed.He has been running back and forth between the bedroom and the computer for the last twenty minutes and now he is barking at me,so I better go before he wakes up the kids.

Good Night LUV.

See ya in the morning.
