Alotta THR and TKR patients.. Hey, I know what those are! What a treat, Ms. B...well, maybe not...
Nana and I were just talking about how she was literally jerked around by a CNA trying to put the TED hose on her. There's a right way and a lot of wrong ways to get that done.

Check out post 214 for my little collection. I won't use anything smaller than what I have for my self defense...but I may buy smaller for my kids to learn and practice with. Do you know anything about derringers? Do they have much kick?

Ice on a fresh injury.
Keeps it from swelling so much, also provides some numbing.
When you are a few days into it, heat is better.
Increases blood flow , more nutrients and oxygen move in.
Plus it feels good.

There certainly is..
It can be painful for both parties..
LOL
A CNA must not put on the TEDs so that it "shoves" against the surgical site..
(Knee or hip)
Getting it over the heel was always the hardest part for me..
But I could do it in my sleep now..
I hate to come on duty and see the TEDs pinched and not drawn smoothly..
That makes me NUTZ!

Most Derringers that I have seen use a .22LR or standard .22 cartridge. The grips are small (especially if you have long fingers like me), but should be fine for a youngster. The recoil should be manageable for kiddies depending upon their age/size. How old are they?
