but I'm not optimistic.Well, look at it this way; you'll have a lot more to bitch and moan about! You should be thrilled about that; you can come on all the threads and tell everybody how disdainful you are of the rest of us and how you're a "real, true" conservative" and we're not.

When I saw the explosion on TV, I said a quick prayer that you had him safe at home or at least in town.

He apparently has an A rating with the NRA. Are you sure you're not confusing him with someone else?jmc813...YES! THANK YOU! You other guys, will you PLEASE read my post #199? Sheeeesh. You know, I was wrong and I admitted it. Why did you two guys (BigSkyFreeper and B4Ranch) have to sound so snide in your replies? I've been around here awhile. I'm no newbie. I treat folks with respect and courtesy (unless I can positively ID a troll and that's something else) why can't y'all?

Boehner voted against the Border Protection, Antiterrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act. See http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2005/roll661.xmlIt isn't as cut & dry as that it seems. His office put out a press release on that. Boehner camp fights back on immigration. Turns out he had a problem with one small section, and wasn't able to express his concerns about it.
Plus: He voted in favor of many/most of the Amendments to the same bill:
Boehner's Scoresheet.

And thanks for the thought.
And see how fast that can happen to anybody?

Don't hand me that. I never said anything like that. I'm not a complainer. But I'm not delusional either. You wouldn't like it if the GOP had a little restraint on spending or a little chutzpah when dealing with Democrats?

Do not be fooled.I am from Boehner's hometown and Iknow him very well.We have been pushing for YEARS to get him to do ANYTHING regarding illegals and he will not.At least now he pays us lip service. He knows he can't sustain his open border stance. He is somewhat solid on most other issues though.

Boehner believes that employers shouldn't have to pay the cost for background checks on possible new hires. IOW, Boehner doesn't want employers held accountable for hiring illegals and violating the law. At the heart of the IRCA of 1986 was that very provision. To prosecute and punish employers who violate the law by hiring illegals.
How did this issue and Boehner's vote sneak by? Not good at all.

'Unlike many of his colleagues, Boehner does not propose pork-barrel projects that are not necessary for his Ohio congressional district.'
What kind of phrasing is that ? Does it mean he DOES propose pork-barrel projects as long as they ARE "necessary" ?
Every Congressman will tell you that their home district projects are "necessary".

I don't know all the votes, but I do know that it was Blunt, not Boehner, who got the vote of Chris Shays, one of the biggest RINOs in the House.Thank's for the info.

Ditto.
If you want a new election, fine, by all means, call it. But don't call it because the Dems are on a political witchhunt. The whole way they conducted the axing of Delay still sickens me, and makes me look at talk of "reform" with a jaundiced eye. They didn't even have the character to stand up to the Dems and treat Delay with the respect earned for how well he did the job.
And, also, if some folks are unhappy with the new selection? Tough. Some of you helped drive Lott out, who I agree should have gone but NOT in that way under the cloud of being a "racist", and got Frist.
When you drive people out under MSM cloaked clouds, you deserve what you get. If you want to conduct an above board election call one when the MSM doesn't have the individual's head on a chopping block so it's entirely focused on issues and ideas. This race wasn't. It was a reaction to Abramhoff which is NOT the way it's supposed to be.
