Good Monday morning, fellow Freeper political junkies. One of the more ridiculous episodes of political theater is about to play itself out on the Senate floor, as the John Kerry-led democrats mount an exercise in political futility which will further expose their total irrelevance..So join us today, or drop in on occasion, for the festivities...

What no one seems to realize is that this type of polarizing attack by the Democrats has real consequences for the future for them. Even though I believe that both Roberts and Alito will be very fair and even handed on the bench, they have to feel that the Democrats are a hating, seething minority of politicians ready to attack them at a moments notice. How can the Democrats expect Roberts and Alito to give them any breaks or view them in anything but the worst light? You can't trash a person's reputation in this manner and then expect everything to be sweetness and light later.

I thought this made some sense when cloture looked close, but a loss of this magnitude is a disaster, it just smooths the way for the next appointment. I know Kerry isn't the sharpest knife in the draw, but this was really stupid.

DU is back up and running.

They're surprisingly quiet over there, just a few wacky posts to make you smile.

You walk on left side of road; fear come from left; take you away.
You walk on right side of road, fear come from right; take you away.
You walk in middle of road, fear come from BOTH sides; SQUISH like grape!

Specter was tough .. surpringly ..

I think he genuinely got his back up when Kennedy tried to hijack the Judiciary Committee during the hearings. Never a good idea to hack off the committee chair.

Poor Teddy, I think his mouth finally bought him a bottle of booze that his ass couldn't drink.

What is there a news black out on the vote?

Not terribly likely. But I am fascinated by the fact that the resukt has been reported nowhere that I can find. Have I missed something here? (Hopefully, I have).

So take a moment, everyone, pat yourselves on the back. And then get back to work. We have a Constitution to save.

The leftists have been trying to wrap themselves in the Constitution lately, which seems like a poor tactic. The danger is that their more intelligent minions might actually read it...

Great post. Thanks for letting us see it. The DUmmies are so sad--they sound like 1905-era communists.
