It's mostly impossible to stop absentee balloting. The tact has to be challenges and making sure the voter roles are kept cleaned off. There has to be a method, for example, of insuring dead people and out of state voters are not able to vote.
I think the election was a disaster and it should be a lesson to all of us on how much better off we are with a military dictator in Pakistan, because with all their nukes a democratic election with their militant population could render and even more devestating result.

The 60 vote dohicky plays on Monday afternoon, if it plays at all.
Of the remaining seven, four are against filibuster. That leaves a maximum of three Gang-of-14 Senators being willing to cast a vote for filibuster. None of them has expressed an intention to vote for the filibuster.
In order to defeat the cloture motion, the DEMs have to "flip" more than one of the "anti-filibuster" Senators, plus insure that all anti-Alito votes outside of the Gang-of-14 will vote against cloture.
Akaka and Dorgan have expressed that they will not support a filibuster, which would put the anti-filibuster vote up to 63.
Akaka said today [Jan 27] he wouldn't support a filibuster because the Senate has heard Alito's positions in confirmation hearings.

Sens. Daniel Akaka of Hawaii and Byron Dorgan of North Dakota made it clear Thursday night after a second day of floor debate on Alito that they would not support a filibuster, even though Akaka was going to vote against the nominee and Dorgan was still undecided.

When it comes to the Clintons, I admit I won't discount anything. But this comes close to a tinfoil-hat theory and I can't vouch for it either way.
IMHO, The imploding of the toons' would get this ball rolling...Here's my bazaar idea, staring with: The toons' should be completely driven out of political life both should be in a fed pen and his presidential library should be closed. All his & her crimes against America and the American people should be told to honest Americans with all the evidence to back it up. This would be an excellent beginning to deep six the present dem party.
Now...I personally believe all the crimes coming out of DC by either party must be exposed. Clean the lawbreakers out and bring America back to her roots. It appears the Israeli wall may be better than some realized. Now, if nothing else, the Israeli's can bomb over the wall without worrying about hitting other Jews. If Hamas does not get it under control, the consequences will be devistating.
