You hate to hear things like this. Especially when this guy was just getting "warmed up", so to speak. Prayers up for a speedy and full recovery.
Go Pats!
They can use (or could have used) cadaver parts for ligaments and other things.
Recovery is going to be tough, but he could be back.
Such a shame, he was such a nice fit for the area and team.
Wonder what the Bengals will do with his contract?
That's terrible. Hopefully he can come back from it. He has a nice career ahead of him.
A dirty shame as he had a great career ahead of him...
I hate the Bengals but I'll pray for one of the greatest QB's the team has ever had.
(I hate the Steelers more)
Indianapolis all the way, baby!
You Know, I watched the game and the hit, and it didn't look all that serious.... almost like Dale Ernhardt's accident.
Palmer is a hard worker. I think he will come back.
Just had surgery for almost the same thing except the knee cap. Don't know the results yet as still on crutches. It was career ending for me, but my potential ended 28 years ago.
This just was not USC's week. (For those not in the know - Carson was the USC Heisman QB for 2002 season - before Leinart).
Hope he is OK - but those are some very hard words concerning prognosis.
Darn! That really sucks!
I hope it turns out not to be true.
Remembering Mark Brunell and the truncated Jaguar rise.
Saw the replay on the news this evening. Not as graphic as Lawrence Taylor snapping Joe Theismann's leg, but it didn't look terribly comfortable, either. Bummer.
From Bengals.com:
Late Thursday night after conducting a series of media interviews, Paulos, through the Bengals public relations department, released the following clarification:
'I believe and regret that media reports, based on interviews with me, have misinterpreted my view of Carson Palmers knee injury. Though the injury was serious, the essential facts remain his ACL and MCL have been repaired. I would consider this a typical MCL-ACL football injury. My comments attributed to me that the knee injury was, devastating and potentially career ending, were meant to describe such injuries in general, not Carsons particular case.'

Maybe they had better trade up to get Leinart or Young.
Just Damn!
Either don't allow for tackling of QBs, or don't allow for blocking of pass-rushers.
