Judge Samuel A. Alitos wife Martha left the confirmation hearing room in tears this evening, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) apologized to the Judges family for the behavior of his fellow committee members during the course of the last three days.
Sen. Graham said: Judge Alito, I am sorry that youve had to go through this. I am sorry that your family has had to sit here and listen to this.
Democrats on the Judiciary Committee have attacked Judge Samuel A. Alito over his membership in Concerned Alumni of Princeton and his involvement in the Vanguard case.
One senior Republican in the hearing room said of the situation: After three full days of attacks against her husbands character, Mrs. Alito had enough. Democrat behavior during this hearing has not only been wrong, its been embarrassing. Ted Kennedy is nothing but a bully.
Developing...
Exactly what is Old Dianne demonstrating in this picture... hmmmmm ... oh never mind....
You sing it brother ....
I'm pretty ticked off thinking about this. Mrs. Alito obviously believes deeply in her husband. And the injustice was too much for her.
I don't know exactly why this ticks me off so much, but things get abstract after a while, they turn into debating points. Then all of a sudden, the human element enters in.
I WANT THEM CRYING!!!!!! I want PAYBACK!!!!!!
I like yams. Did you mean yammerbag?
If you are thinking in terms of the word yammer, meaning to complain loudly combined with the word bag, as in 'windbag'......uhhh no, not exactly.
She's saying, "I need a Monte Cristo sandwich...NOW!"
The DemonRATS need to pay for this.
I remember that some months after the Clarence Thomas hearings and the vile, nasty and unprincipled treatment was brought up by someone, Thomas agreed that it had indeed been bad, but he could put it behind him now because HE WAS APPOINTED FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE, and just grinned.
I just watched Shumer on Fox a few minutes ago. He said that questions about one's membership in a group that has a propensity for racism and discrimination should be heavily regarded. I wonder if he would think the same of Sen. Byrd's leadership activities with the KKK. Nah, that's different!!
Ah well.
I mean come on, just look at her!!
Although I suppose she could be dreaming about Teddy!!!
They all deserve to be shot... probably why they are all gun grabbers.
That said, look at Judge Alito's eyes.
They are going to get theirs. Soon and Big Time.
I'm sure she's not enjoying the comments & questions, but the old canard "If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen" comes to mind.
What about Senator Byrd? He also belonged to a controversial organization. Words weren't enough for them. They killed people. He retruited members. Is Sheets Byrd, former member of a terrorist organization, is HE qualified to be a senator? And since the other rats thinks Byrd is just dandy, what are they qualified to be? Members of the KKK?
....
over whether Chairman Arlen Specter, R-Pa., had received a letter from Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., asking that the committee seek certain papers related to Concerned Alumni of Princeton.
Kennedy said he sent it.
Specter said he didn't receive it.
Kennedy said he must have received it.
"I take umbrage at your telling me what I received," Specter said. "I don't mind your telling me what you mailed. But there's a big difference between what's mailed and what's received. And you know that."
Kennedy demanded the committee go into closed session to vote on subpoenaing the documents from the Library of Congress.
"And if I'm going to be denied that," Kennedy thundered, "I'd want to give notice to the chair that you're going to hear it again and again and again and we're going to have votes of this committee again and again and again until we have a resolution."
"Well, Senator Kennedy, I'm not concerned about your threats," interrupted Specter. "I'm not going to have you run this committee and decide when we're going to go into executive session."
With that, he turned his head away, banged the gavel and opened another round of questions.
Ah, a plan! ??
I didn't vote for that whale, or John Effin Kerry, so I don't feel guilty or ashamed at all.
Have you no decency, Sen. Schumer?
45 - We've got Specter and Rendell.
Schumer is the guy in the bar who when things escalate says, "hit me and I'll sue you!"
