The unfortunate result (lesson) of Mrs. Alito's tears will mean that in the future, any democratic nominee will bring his/her family to any hearings.

Nominees will be chosen based on any family members being in the acting profession. (Tom Hayden & Jane Fonda...maybe they were before their time)

There'll be more tears, more emotional breakdowns, more heart seizures than an entire year of "General Hospital" episodes. :>)

The swimmer didn't even have the courage to look Arlen in the eyes during this confrontation, but Arlen looked at him...

The difference then would be that the Alito family are real people, not actors, and whereas the conduct and character of Judge Alito is plainly visible for all to see, any future posturing by a Democratic nominee will be as contrived as the expressions on the face of Senator Durbin, if I got the name right--the senator from Illinois.

You would think the Democrats would have realized that their horse had died on them after the first round of questioning, yet they refused to dismount and continued to kick the animal. Senator Feinberger from California seemed embarrassed to repeat some of the same questions already asked and answered and Kennedy made a fool of himself with his exchange with Specter on the "questions" they wanted to keep asking.

I had no doubt the dems would be cruel in the Alito hearings (and yes, I watched the Thomas hearings). But perhaps you could find a trace of humanity for a wife who does not have a heart of steel.

LOLOL! Sadly, though, I wouldn't doubt it - the Democrats are all about spin.

Breaking from NewsMax.com

Ted Kennedy's Club Discriminated

When Ted Kennedy tried to chastise Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito for his one-time membership in a group opposed to admitting more women and minorities to Princeton, the pot was calling the kettle black.

Sen. Kennedy still belongs to a social club for Harvard students and alumni that was thrown off campus nearly 20 years ago after refusing to allow female members, an investigation by the Washington Times reveals.

The book Ted Kennedy
doesn't want you to read -
Go Here Now.
According to the membership directory of the Owl Club, Kennedy updated his personal information as recently as September 7.

Ironically, the Owl Club, long reviled at Harvard as "sexist," was evicted from the campus in 1984 for violating federal anti-discrimination laws authored by Kennedy.

"It's a social club. It's like a fraternity."

But according to the Times, Harvard views organizations such as the Owl Club quite differently from fraternities and sororities, which are considered a form of housing and therefore are not coeducational.

Kennedy's hypocritical attack on Alito over his membership in CAP would come as no surprise to readers of the blockbuster new book "Do As I Say (Not As I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy" by bestselling author Peter Schweizer.

In his book Schweizer discloses that while Kennedy has fought for the estate tax and spoken out against tax shelters, he has repeatedly benefited from an intricate web of trusts and private foundations that have shielded most of his family's fortune from the IRS.

One Kennedy family trust wasn't even set up in the U.S., but in Fiji.

Schweizer also reveals that while Kennedy has championed the development of alternate energy sources, he opposed a plan to build a wind-power generating facility to provide clean, cheap power to Cape Cod.

The reason: The wind turbines would be positioned off the coast from the Kennedy compound in Hyannis, in one of the family's favorite yachting and sailing areas.

Schweizer's "Do As I Say" has been touted as a must-read by Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Ann Coulter and many others. Check out NewsMax's FREE offer for this book -- Go Here Now.

I had no doubt the dems would be cruel in the Alito hearings (and yes, I watched the Thomas hearings).

So do you think Mrs. Alito was so naive that she didn't know what her husband was getting into?

But perhaps you could find a trace of humanity for a wife who does not have a heart of steel.

LOL. I think I'll just let you enjoy feeling "more compassionate than thou."

I think this is the one and only time I'm proud to say Arlen is my Senator. He's typically a disgrace...but I'm glad he put ole Teddy in his place.

In fact, Lindsey Graham teared up at seeing her reaction.

What a dog and pony show this has turned out to be. Mrs. Alito needs to grow some big ones and get back in there and stare these heathens down. I can't imagine Nancy Reagan acting like this. But then many politicians wives aren't Nancy Reagan. At least she would have kept her personal pain private, and did.

Since I'm from SC, I won't contribute any personal comments about Lindsey Graham's - SC-RINO, reaction.

Mrs. Alito is not a political wife, with years of practice in "keeping personal pain private." Nor does she have an actress's background, like Nancy Reagan.

Since I have had the exact same thing happen to me ( crying not when attacked but when people expressed sympathy) I do not find her reaction unusual, nor do I think she should "grow some big ones."

I cry when I am angry. Mrs. Alito did far better than I would have. When Ted Kennedy started talking, tears of rage would have been flowing copiously from me, I can tell you!
