ALITO CONFIRMATION HEARINGS
Questioning Begins Today
Each of the eighteen senators on the Judiciary Cmte. will have 30 minutes to question Supreme Court nominee Samual Alito today during round one. Sen. Arlen Specter, as chairman, will begin, then they will alternate by party in order of individual seniority. Round two starts on Wednesday.
I know, just thought I would raz you a little. Must be very frustrating, especially the timing of it.

"Appointed for life." We need to remember this, every single time a person is up for a seat on the appellate courts and the supreme court.
These judicial appointments are important. All of those libs judges looking to foreign courts to make decisions that effect Americans need to be impeached. Impeachment will never happen because of lifetime employment. Still we need to remember this when a lib is in the WH making these appointments. We need to fight the good fight, not only now with Bush in office, but when a lib is in office.
They're waiting for the Great Oz Question to emanate from a Dim senator's mouth....just that ONE clever question which will sink the nominee. It ain't forthcoming.

At least of the Dems, I can somewhat stand Biden since he isn't an ass when he asks his questions.
Stevens is a lib..but still a Pubbie..and he is fond of both Bushes...Once Alito is confirmed, and thye court balance is altered, Stevens, who is 85..may well decide that he wants some more free time the last aprt of his life, and might well retire and let W name his nominee...
As we all know, that is not a requirement of the Constitution. What Biden really means is that, with O'Connor, we are getting the "results" we want a good bit of the time and she is willing to rule based on feelings and those results rather than the Constitution. We liberals want that to continue, and you, sir, may take that legislation from the bench away from our side.

Senator Kennedy is making a statement. LOL CNN cut to Kennedy having a press conference accusing Alilto of not being responsive.
I"m LOL LOL! Kennedy must be all adither...him going before the camera like this is clearly desperation.
and LOL LOL Joe Trippi on MSNBC has to say something positive about the democrats, so he tells Nora, "well this hearing is a chipping away process". Translation..."I agree the dems didn't lay a glove on Alito, but there's still time!"
