Massachusetts lost residents for the second year in a row, new federal Census estimates show, underscoring an accelerating population shift from the Northeast to the South and West that threatens to erode the state's political and economic clout...
"Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver
Parody: "Take Me Forth, Any Road"
Almost Hades, Massachusetts;
Land of morons,
Canada-like winters.
Traffic's awful;
Worse than New Jersey's.
"Use" a public bathroom,
You'll catch STDs.
Any road, take me forth
Any place
Better than Massachusetts;
Maybe Georgia.
Take me forth, any road.
Awful memories, Boston Proper;
Must be crazy
Ever to have lived there.
Old and crusty
Cranky leftist guys;
Messed up like all moonbats,
Full of moonbat lies.
Any road, take me forth
Any place
Better than Massachusetts;
Iowa's a
Better home? Maybe so.
They talk of "choice"
Orwellian dread befalls me.
Rainbow flags remind me
That this place is so gay.
Try a random road;
I've got to leave this,
Got to find a better place to stay;
Anyway...
Any road, take me forth
Any place
Better than Massachusetts;
Michigan or
Ohio? Fine, let's go.
Take me forth, down any road.
Take me forth, down any road.

I would not live anywhere but where I do, in the South, and I just keep wondering to myself, why do people keep on living where their state's culture and politics make them miserable?
I can come up with only two really valid reasons for staying put: job and family. The latter doesn't seem to be a powerful one since we have airplanes and mail and all sorts of way to stay in touch. Job, well, that's a toughie, but if you have easily transferrable skills (say, in the medical fields), then, why not just go?
Of course, I'm looking at this from the vantage point of being retired with no family ties and don't see the big picture of those who do have to tangle with relationships with their relatives and the need to be employed where they are.
By the way, Grampa Dave, I really liked your post 38. Good insights.
That is a lie!
Henry O'McPatrick here
lol
Californication bump.
MA residents ought to try grits sometime.
My MA family cleared out decades ago, still have a few cousins in and around Boston but they are diehard Northeasterners. The rest "got smart" and moved as far away as TX. They left because of high taxes and the corruption of locals in all areas.
Investigators suspect the decline is due to a lack of basic essentials and are tracking an individual believed to be consuming all the food and liquor available in Massachusetts.
May I add a verse? :^)
All the Kennedys, 'round fat Teddy,
'Effin Kerry, slightly left of Castro;
Socialistic, bluest of the blue,
Say goodbye to mod'rates, they'll be leavin' too!
"That will cause massive layoffs of "journalists". I bet this will lead to a serious decrease in "journalism" majors and "journalism" departments as job opportunities decrease for "journalists".
If the universities follow past patterns, they will probably continue to graduate so called journalists with Instant Unemployment Journalism degrees at even higher rates. These under educated fools will become "temporary" waiters/waitresses and hate Republicans. Later, they will enroll in a masters degree program for Journalism. (See the next paragraph)
Then, there will be a big push by the universities to increase the PHD's in journalism in each university. So all of the unemployed with a BS in so called Journalism will get grants to work on their masters. Then, the chosen ones will become PHD candidates. When they get their PHD, they will become Journalism Professors with tenure and increase the number of BS grads with an Instant Unemployment Degree in so called Journalism.
Universities have been creating these PHD Instant Unemployment Degree programs for decades in Black Studies, Hispanic Studies, Native American Studies, Social Studies, Queer Studies and other instant unemployment degrees. They will get their universiters to require at least 3-6 hours of each worthless subject to get a worthwhile degree.
Maybe we can get Romney to do for the rest of the country what he's done for Massachusetts./sarcasm.
Thanks and Merry Christmas.
If we can hold on and make gains in political power for the rest of this decade, left wing liberalism will probably confined to horrible places to live, known as Big Blue Cities.
The miserable Blue Cities will continue to elect mental deviants to Congress, but there will be less members in the house. As the Bib Blue Cities loss more population due to their life choices, we will see many blue states become so called Red States. This will happen when the sane people in the state outside of the Big Blue Cites outnumber the plantation voters of the Bigg Blue Cities.
One of the first Blue States to become a red state may be La.. New Orleans, will probably never regain its population of plantation voters. If that happens the conservatives outside of NO's will control the state.
Nice take------so, so true. When the politicians figure out the votes aren't there, they'll stop sucking up to these types.
I guess you could say "will the last productive,self sufficient resident of Massachusetts please shut out the lights as you leave?".
"I take it that you live in Massachusetts."
I never actually said that. Besides, read the song carefully: does it say I'm there now?
I dont blame people for wanting to leave ... i'd want to leave too with senators like kerry and kennedy who mysteriously keep being reelected.
Yes, they are aborting and gaying themselves out of existence.
You have probably seen some changes in SC for some time, but remember the entire south voted for Bush, twice.
