Groundbreaking Book: Science Shows Man Not an Ape

Posted on 12/21/2005 6:22:46 AM PST by truthfinder9

One of biggest paradigm shifts in origins in recent years is when genetics and morphological studies began to show that Neanderthals and humans weren’t related. Sure, a lot of Darwin Fundies around here don’t know that because they get all of their science from the talking point lists of their Fundamentalist Leaders. So this is probably a big shock too, science is also showing that man is not related to any hominids including apes.

In the groundbreaking book, Who was Adam?, biochemist Fazale Rana examines the scientific research that is overturning Darwinian Fundamentalism. Here, using peer-reviewed research that the Darwin Fundies claim doesn’t exist, Rana shows man is unique and designed.

And he details the latest findings on the fossil record, junk DNA, Neanderthals, human and chimp genetics. There's more science here than most Darwin Fundies have ever read, but this will be the next great paradigm shift.

“The parallels between Genesis and the latest scientific data are profound...” - John A. Bloom, Ph.D., professor of physics, Biola University

On Rana’s previous book, Origins of Life:

“Evolution has just been dealt its deathblow. After reading Origins of Life, it is clear that evolution could not have occurred.” - Richard Smalley, Nobel Laureate, Chemistry, 1996, professor of physics and astronomy, Rice University

Real science by real scientists. According to Darwin Fundies this doesn't exist, but here it is.

Darwin Fundies don't like that? Ironic, no? When they invented the word!

The term "Darwin Fundie" isn't the way to start a reasoned discussion. I don't care if you use it, but don't expect your arguments to be taken seriously, regardless of the other side's behavior.

The only fact in your post is that you are an idiot.

It's wasy to spot someone who knows little about science when they quote the "97%" number. Genetics is more complicated than that. There are microscopic bugs that share nearly that amount of genes with humans. I know they leave that out it "public" education, but now you know.

majority don't buy it so I guess it doesn't matter.

The majority believes in elves, astrology, ghosts, and UFOs as well. Glad to see you in the majority.

You need to re-read the statement. It claims we are not related to Neanderthals and does not address us DESCENDING from them.

You don't agree. Fine. There's no conclusive evidence one way or the other anyway. No since getting your panties in a wad over it.

>>>Try reading it again. Studies show they aren't related, which is what the post said. What are you reading?>>>

Straterist doesn't grasp that we are RELATED to all primates. Same way that Wolves and dogs are are RELATED, but probably not descendants of each other.

I assure you not a single one of those studies cited states Neanderthals and humans do not share a common ancestor;

For example, this article you cite...

Krings, M., A. Stone, R. W. Schmitz, H. Krainitzki, M. Stoneking, and S. Paabo. 1997. Neandertal DNA Sequences and the Origin of Modern Humans. Cell 90: 19-30.

Is the one that is the SOURCE of the estimate that the common ancestor of Neanderthals and humans was 500,000-700,000 years ago.

You're citing stuff that annihilates your argument. Hilarious.

Any author claiming these articles show there's no relationship between Neanderthals and humans is either too stupid to understand the articles, or deliberately lying.

I usually avoid these threads like the plague, but was amused at the delicious pot-kettle irony of this one.
"Scientists", bleating like liberal stuck pigs...

Have a nice day.

Sorry. The human genome project has revealed that both humans and chimpanzees share 97.3% of their genes and that while humans have 30,000 genes, earth worms have 20,000.

I get a big kick out of "internet tough-guys". You rarely hear this kind of talk where I come from without a throw-down after. Can't "throw-down" on the internet though, can you Strategerist?

I'll take a look. Where is the link to his peer reviewed work that validates his "not related" assertion. If it's not online, what journal can I find it in?

I've got a great idea. At a time when we (as conservatives and religious people) are (or ought to be) keeping our focus on fighting a war on Islamist Fundamentalist Terrorism, LET'S HAVE ANOTHER SCOPES MONKEY TRIAL! That will be really good for both conservatism and religion! Just what we need to defeat the terrorist enemy without, and the Leftist enemy within! I just don't think that holding oneself up to national ridicule (however unjustified that ridicule may seem or be) is the way to go.

All creation is related because we are created by the same Creator. Simple.

Science Shows Man Not an Ape

I still go with the old saw about how the theory of evolution
is a true insult to the apes.

Of course not, we were all created 5,000 years ago. No species are related. No, no, no! And I'm talking science here! And all the other science stuff is wrong!

(Sheesh)

I'm amused by people incapable of rational thought. Fun to toy with them.

The fun part is when they get mad :-)

I take it seriously. Evos can call those who believe in creationism all sorts of names and insult them. Turnabout is fair play.

In the end, the authors fail to prove their point. Just more supernaturalistic excuses for why there has to be a God.

Ahh..and they were doing so well. Now just another partisan attack.
