Groundbreaking Book: Science Shows Man Not an Ape

Posted on 12/21/2005 6:22:46 AM PST by truthfinder9

One of biggest paradigm shifts in origins in recent years is when genetics and morphological studies began to show that Neanderthals and humans weren’t related. Sure, a lot of Darwin Fundies around here don’t know that because they get all of their science from the talking point lists of their Fundamentalist Leaders. So this is probably a big shock too, science is also showing that man is not related to any hominids including apes.

In the groundbreaking book, Who was Adam?, biochemist Fazale Rana examines the scientific research that is overturning Darwinian Fundamentalism. Here, using peer-reviewed research that the Darwin Fundies claim doesn’t exist, Rana shows man is unique and designed.

And he details the latest findings on the fossil record, junk DNA, Neanderthals, human and chimp genetics. There's more science here than most Darwin Fundies have ever read, but this will be the next great paradigm shift.

“The parallels between Genesis and the latest scientific data are profound...” - John A. Bloom, Ph.D., professor of physics, Biola University

On Rana’s previous book, Origins of Life:

“Evolution has just been dealt its deathblow. After reading Origins of Life, it is clear that evolution could not have occurred.” - Richard Smalley, Nobel Laureate, Chemistry, 1996, professor of physics and astronomy, Rice University

Real science by real scientists. According to Darwin Fundies this doesn't exist, but here it is.

Interesting side note, my Y chromosome carries the M201 P15 (G2 Haplogroup) mutation estimated to have been created about 20,000 years ago and originated near the caucasus mountain region. This is assumed because it is rare and is highly concentrated in that region today.

What does that have to do with this thread? I believe primitative humanoid life forms did not contain the knowledge or "spirit of G-d" as some call it.

That inception, so to speak, was given in more recent times and I believe that inception was the creation of "man" as we now know it.

Whoaa, scientists and religious fundamentalists are sure to flame this post.....Looking for my nomex suit.

Darwin was a life-long Christian. He began his college career as a divinity student, with the goal of becoming a pastor. He never saw his theory as questioning the existance of God and he never recanted his theory on the origin of species.

I support evolution as much as the next man, but Darwin, after the death of his child, became either an atheist or the next-best thing. Darwin's death-bed conversion is, however, apocryphal -- claimed much later by a single supposed witness, and ultimately irrelevent. Because he never recanted his work, nor could he have, because the evidence is overwhelming.

As for evolution and God being compatible, many scientists (including myself) consider themselves to be people of faith and don't have a problem with evolution.

How can I rebut that which is patently false?

By proving it was a false statement...citing examples, etc.,

>>>My view is this is a religious extremist who takes exception to the fact that humans and other primates share 97% of our DNA. Evolution is a theory. >>>

Yes, and humans also share about 97.5% of their DNA with mice. What's your point?

Or with a decent teacher:

Little Virgina to teacher: "Sir, I was taught at home and church that G-d created man"

Public school teacher: "Well, Virginia, you have a right to your beliefs. But evolution is the state of modern science so you need to know it. You don't have to believe it, just know it."

It's your opinion that it's a fact, unless you have data to back yourself up.

Are you ten? Can you actually read what I'm posting?

You claimed that studies showed that Neandertals and humans had no common ancestor.

You claimed to have read them all. You provided a list of them.

I found the actual text of one of your studies where it explicitly discusses a human-neandertal common ancestor and how long ago it was.

I read what you're posting, and what I'm reading is somone who just intellectually got caught with his pants down.

No one is going to "give it a rest". We have just begun to fight. How you equate this argument with terrorism escapes me.

I have brought up this SAME question numerous times and still have no answer.

Then you're not listening. Speciation -- a basic concept of the theory of evolution --- explains how one population splits in two, with one branch evolving in one direction (in this case into humans) and the other in another (in this case into chimpanzees and bonobos). You should do a little reading about speciation before you come on this thread and tell us that scientists have given you no answers.

People want to force science to dispell that there is a God and will cram that square peg into a round hole all day.

Strawman. I believe in God and accept evolution.

Or even better: "Well, Virginia, maybe God created man and the universe 6,000 years ago so it would look like the universe is 15 billion years old and that man evolved from more primitive animals!"

Evolutionary 'cousins' as opposed to 'ancestor/offspring'...

The key was in front of Darwin in his day. Gregor Mendel just completed a groundbreaking study in genetics and the great difficulty with natural selection was the absence of a convincing mechanism to transmit desired characteristics from parents to offspring. Science eventually became aware of it in 1900. Its a good example of great breakthroughs in thoughts by different people who don't realize they each hold different parts of the same map. That's less likely to happen today but its interesting nonetheless.

You are assuming that man is the "end goal" of evolution. Two genera (ex: australopithicus, pan) no matter how closely related would never end up evolving in to the same descendant species.

The only fact in your post is that you are an idiot.

Thanks for your thoughtful contribution. You have used a very persuasive argument almost guarenteed to sway opinion on the subject.

Then you must just have a problem with the Bible. Either God created humans in their present form (per Genesis) or He didn't.

As soon as they stop using degenerating terms for design scientists.

ID now follows scientific protocols? When did that happen?

Public school teacher: "Well, Virginia, you have a right to your beliefs. But evolution is the state of modern science so you need to know it. You don't have to believe it, just know it."

Virginia: "Does that mean I'll get an F if I don't answer the Darwin test questions correctly?"

Teacher: "Yes Virginia, there are right answers and wrong answers. Your religious beliefs are not the right answer in this class."

By proving it was a false statement...citing examples, etc.

Actually, you started this, so the burden of proof is all yours.
Please show me proof of
Public School Fact: Religious Student doesn't believe in Darwinism = F in class
Atheist Student doesn't believe in Religion, subscribes to Darwinism = A in class

And I am asking for proof...hard imperical proof, not opnion or conjecture.
