Judge Jones in his ruling yesterday took the route of upholding precedent. He's the latest in a long string of judges who have made reference to the 20th Century flat earth concept of "separation of church and state." The modern perversion of the U.S. Constitution began with Supreme Court Justice Hugo 'KKK' Black's ruling against public support of Catholic schools in 1947.
I guess one can say this is what makes a Republican appointed judge like Jones different from the Democrat ones. Liberal judges defy the law and try to change it in our face like ruling the Pledge of Allegience unconstitutional or that terror suspects at Gitmo have the same rights as U.S. citizens. Or they even resign from boards to put political pressure on the president like has been reported this morning.
Some senators like Arlen Specter have stated to much consternation, controversy and after the fact correction of their remarks that Supreme Court nominees like John Roberts and Samuel Alito believe in precedents like "Roe vs. Wade." Lets hope this is not the case and that some precedents like "separation of church and state" will be put on the scrap heap of history they rightly belong on.
There was no way that the Dover School Board could have won this case with the false notion of "separation of church and state" as a precedent in a 1987 Supreme Court ruling dealing with creationism.
As regards the misleading of the court by the now ex-school board members in this trial, I take seriously the commandment "Thou shalt not bear false witness." I also take seriously the commandment "Thou shalt not kill" but I believe in killing in self-defense, the death penalty and killing in war. It seems appropriate to me that in fighting the ACLU in this culture war case, deception is not sin.
The world around us looks at things in a legalistic way. Jesus was not a legalist. Modern day Pharisees and Saducees may throw their stones at them, but I repeat the words "Let he who has no sin cast the first stone." Modern day Christians have lied to save lives, smuggle Bibles into Communist countries, and to be missionaries in Muslim countries.
Ultimately the ex-school board members and all of us will answer to a higher authority than Judge Jones.
"Separation of church and state" is a false, Soviet, flat earth concept. The ACLU WANTS A WORLD WHERE ONE NATION UNDER GOD IS REPLACED BY THE NATION (GOVERNMENT) IS GOD. Is that the world government system you desire? I like to think you're more intelligent than that.
I'll weigh my intelligence against your piety any time, any where, and before any judge.
