It was pointed out to me that perhaps I was wrong. 50 USC 1802 is a piece of it, but doesn't specifically address "terrorists" so far as anyone can tell. Apparently there's a classified Executive Order out there, it may make the needed adjustments. Dunno.

Now, that's the kind of response I want to hear. BRAVO, Mr. Cheney. I'm so glad you are VEEP.

Amen!

I don't have time today to send this to anyone, but I hope that someone else will. This is good stuff.

I shouldn't be on the computer right now, I have so much I need to do.

If the RATS wish to make a challenge to the legality of the program they can get a temporary court injunction to suspend the program if they have an actual complainant. There can not be an individual civil rights violation without proof of an individual. The RATS will have to produce exactly who's rights were violated but first they have to open the argument by declassifying the info through the courts and that is not likely. All the President has to invoke is within his Presidential Powers gives him the right to conduct the war as he sees fit.

The original Authority
The Records of the Federal Convention of 1787;

the President is empowered to repel sudden attacks without awaiting congressional action and to make clear that the conduct of war is vested exclusively in the President.

There isn't going to be an independent counsel. We've had enough of that.

Even getting rid of Cheney wouldn't help them all that much. I think they want to use this as a '06 issue which is why dingy kept telling Chris Wallace this is the 'most corrupt' congress ever.

Can you say Bush isn't running in 2008?? The Dems are idiots.

Remember, any benefit of the Dems stupidity goes right to Hillary......and remember, what Hillary proposed to take down Nixon was deemed both illegal and unconstitutional.

Where's all the polls on this stuff?? Or didn't the numbers work out right for the Dems.

Classified EO...hmmmm...I think we can count on W as having the authority to do what he's done. He runs this kinda stuff by his attorney staff 24/7.

Wonder what authority clintoon had to listen to us 24/7? Was there also a classified EO?
