SoldiersPrayingMom just phoned me in tears to report that Sgt. Greg Parkinson (jmpmstr4u2) had been injured in the explosion of an improvised explosive device.

The Department of Defense called Greg's wife, Tammy, to inform her of the injury just after midnight California Time. They told her that he had been evacuated to a field hospital, that he had all of his limbs, but that he has injuries in his left arm and back.

SoldiersPrayingMom requests all Freepers to pray for healing and complete recovery. Pray for his Mom and Dad, Ruth (SoldiersPrayingMom) and Jim Parkinson, Greg's wife, Tammy, and his two daughters who face uncertainties and fear for his condition. Greg and his family need all of your prayers and support.

Developing!

Praying for Greg and your family. If there is ever anything I can do, just ask. I know what it's like to get the call...

Sgt. Greg brought before the throne of grace, along with his parents, wife and children.

"......Seems to have protected jmpmstr4u2's life.....am relying on Romans 8:26-27(paraprased): ' we do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us in accordancewith God's will with groans that words can not express' ..........."

Yes, I do believe that, so when Greg's Dad took the call, I immediately dropped to my knees and began praying in the Spirit, that God would deliver and heal Greg and his men from all their injuries, body, mind and spirit.

About an hour later, The phone rang again and it was the wonderful sound of the voice of a jmpmstr4u2....a little bit slurry(due to medications), but up beat voice. It was so good to hear him share from his Baghdad hospital bed, in his usual descriptive manner about his ordeal. Some of the happenings were a little sketchy, as things happened so fast, it was difficult for him to recall. I'm sure that he will share with you all, if and when he has opportunity. The doctor came in to check him, so we had to say our good-bye and hang up.

About 8:00 am, we got a call stating that he had been released from the hospital. All that I can say, is Praise The Lord!!! We serve a Great Big Wonderful God, that is true to His word, once again he has heard and answered the prayers of many, that have grown to love and care(through his letters, a young man that most may never meet personally.

Thank you for your wonderful prayers for Greg and his men and for being their FRiends. We do not have any knowledge of his men's status, other than three others were injured.
Please continue to pray for them, thier familes and for Greg, as they may not be medically out of the woods yet, so to speak.

Fondly and Thankfully,

SoldiersPrayingMom, jmpmstr4u2 and Family

We have GOOD NEWS!!!!

Greg's injuries are not as bad as first thought. Greg called his wife and mother this morning from the hospital in Iraq.

It looks like he will be treated for his injuries in Iraq and he is scheduled to come home on January 8th!

He could come home sooner but has requested permission from his commander to be able to stay and return with his men.

I have no information on the condition of the men who were in the Humvee with Greg.

May Father in Heaven heal Sgt. Greg Parkinson of all his injuries. May Sgt. Parkinson feel the love and comfort of God and have faith that all will be well. May Sgt. Parkinson's wife, Tammy, their two children, and the rest of this dear family be strengthened in faith and courage to face the challenges ahead. May this family be forever blessed and watched over by the angels in heaven and on earth.
