Sometimes I wonder how this country survives- let alone thrives- with all the human garbage constantly attacking the president

Yes, early in Bush's first term he presented "The Swimmer" with a service award. Less than a week later the swimmer held a press conference calling him a liar.

I hope there will be arrests resulting from this intentional leak of highly classified information.

Being nice has gotten him nowhere.

I hope he has blood on his teeth for tomorrow night's Oval Office address. He's gotta quash this criticism like Irish Confetti (a ton of bricks)...

Frist has proven himself a pathetic failure: the reins have to be turned over to someone like Mitch McConnell before it's too late.

None, repeat, none of the other GOP long-timers has stepped forward to lend a hand. No Lugar, Bond, Grassley, etc. They are a disgrace.

Now's the time for the GOPers to stand up and say that "Yes, they had been told."

Sheesh.

Yep, this really is a SERIOUS breach of intelligence protocal (unlike the Valerie Plame affair). It's really time for Dubya to clean shop over there at the CIA and get all the CommieDemocrats out. After all, it isn't like they're actually doing their job.

I slipped on my mental hazmat suit and slid over to DU to see just what those morons thought of this. Needless to say it is on their main page, hilarious read on their take of this. I don't think a single one of them will ever read the NYT again after they admitted to sitting n the story for a whole year at the request of the President. Just think, a whole year of juicy president-bashing just sitting there and they weren't told, they are having a s^%$ fit over that.

"It was a waste of effort, and simply delayed the inevitable bloodletting that will come."

Agreed. Now, let's get on with it. :)

I wonder how many possible attacks have been thwarted by eavesdropping. I guess when we lose this capability, we may find out.

Not the President's fault. We have to remember that he is the captain of the team WE sent him onto the field with.

It's our fault. It is our failure, our Senator's failures and then his failure. I hate to say it, but in a democracy, when our leaders screw up....the buck stops with us.

We need to put pressure on the Senators in our own states.

I know I’m not the first to say this and won’t be the last, but the Democrats are playing politics with Americans security. Democrats are a party that always sticks by their convictions that they have no convictions.

Are the Dems so stupid that they do not realize that IF we are attacked again THEY will not be able to pull a Blanco and blame our President? I think a lot of them have been almost hoping for another attack so they could hit Bush over the head with it. Now--thanks to their idiocy--they will only have their own heads to bash!

And--is there ONE Democrat who does not know that if Hell-awry gets into the White House, she would not use every power granted her to spy on those who oppose her--whether it was legal or not?

" Appearing angry at times during his eight-minute address, Bush left no doubt that he will continue authorizing the program."

That is good enough for me.

Thanks for the link.
