Jane Fonda: U.S. Troops Are 'Killing Machines'

"Hanoi Jane" Fonda is claiming that ever since Vietnam, U.S. troops have been trained to commit atrocities against innocent civilians as a matter of military policy.

"Starting with the Vietnam War we began training soldiers differently," the anti-American actress says in an email to the Washington Post.

Fonda claims she learned of the policy switch in "secret meetings" she had with military psychologists "who were really worried about what was happening to our combat personnel."

One doctor, she insists, told her U.S. troops had been deliberately trained to be "killing machines."

"This began," Fonda maintained, "because the military discovered that in World War II and Korea, [U.S.] soldiers weren't killing enough."

"So they changed training procedures" to teach troops how to commit atrocities.

Still, the anti-war gadfly cautions, it's important not to blame the soldiers themselves for carrying out war crimes.

Recalling the "Winter Soldier" hearings that she and John Kerry staged in 1971, Fonda lamented: "When you put young people into an atrocity-producing situation where enemy and civilian are commingled, where the 'other side' is dehumanized, we cannot be surprised."

Anti-war vets now returning from Iraq, Fonda cautioned, should be listened to instead of being dismissed as "unpatriotic."

"We have not learned the lessons of Vietnam," she declared.

This woman makes me puke. I've said this before on Traiter Jane threads, but I remember seeing her at Penn State circa 1971 when my student activity fees brought her on campus. She haranged the students like she was some kind of Messiah, telling us what to think, and I found it insulting. I remember thinking, Who are you to lecture me as to what to believe and how to act? It wasn't a discussion of any kind, it was a propaganda tour with a one-sided message.

This woman makes me SICK!

Between her comments and Dean ranting about how we will lose the war, it's enough to get anyone's blood boiling. I would hope our troops didn't get word of what she just said. Steps should have been taken to bring charges of treason against her, look how many times she's opened her mouth against the U.S.? Something should be done!

Guess I hit this thread a bit late.
Too bad Hanoi Jane didn't stay in 'nam and enjoy the Ho Chi Minh atrocities to their own people especially after 1975 da?

Some of you are Veterans, and people should understand why some of the Vets are still so ticked at her.

She "apologizes" for hanging with the enemy in Vietnam, but then, she goes and says something like this. So that tells me she isn't sincere, and instead, has a negative view of our military. She just slapped all the military families in the face, slapped vets and those who have fought to keep her free...in the face. Ugh, she makes me sick.

I'll bet if Ms Fonda were to go on patrol with Marines in Iraq, she'd be glad they were "killing machines."

Yes, she did. And doesn't even know that she did.

Go, military, go. Hope and pray you get better and better at it every day.

And Jane, how do you know this? Oh, you don't. . .you're just blathering, as usual.

Ah yes! The stench is readily discernible. The Brunnehilde of Bellicose Babble returns to the public forum to yet again make a monumental as_hole of herself. Never mind that if she lived under either of the regimes, North Vietnam or Iraq, to which she alludes with her unctious remarks, she would have been summarily tortured and executed or just simply executed for doing just what she is doing now.

She bemoans the fact that our soldiers have been turned into "killing machines". Hopefully that is correct for to destroy other killing machines you MUST be better at that task than they are. It is indeed ironic that the net effect of this dedication by our military is to guaranteed that ungrateful, irresponsible phonies like Hanoi Jane can mount their respective pulpits. Next we may expect to see photos of her in an al Qaeda training camp astride a camel waving an old pair of Saddam's underpants.

For those out there who may be too young to understand the reality of Hanoi Jane or who have forgotten, unlikely as that is, please click on this link and get acquainted

Jane The Jerk

It will be time well invested.

I'm sure others will say much the same as this: I would certainly hope so, Hanoi Jane. They are not social workers, although they serve admirably in those unintended roles as well.

That's a good part of the reason it's taking so long to win in Iraq...

Good ironic point. The Left does all it can to undermine and impede the effort and then carps at the "slowness" of progress. Whew!

"Why is she not in leg irons.
I think jaw irons would be more appropriate.

Either one would be fine so long as she was swimming in deep water.

(Was that a bad thing to say??)
