Stanley Tookie Williams executed Crips gang co-founder put to death for 4 murders

Tuesday, December 13, 2005; Posted: 3:38 a.m. EST (08:38 GMT)

SAN QUENTIN, California (CNN) -- Convicted killer and Crips gang co-founder Stanley Tookie Williams was executed early Tuesday at the California state prison at San Quentin.

The execution went ahead as scheduled after the U.S. Supreme Court late Monday rejected a last-ditch appeal.

The high court's ruling followed California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's decision to deny clemency for Williams, 51, who received a lethal injection at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday (3:01 a.m. ET).

""We are going to prove his innocence, and when we do, we are going to show that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is, in fact, himself a cold blooded murderer," Becnel said."

You've had 20 years to manage that. Maybe after you've got that in the can, you can team up with OJ to help him search for the real killers.

I'm happy this pile of crap is dead, I celebrate the fact he won't be bothering us anymore and I laugh at the morons who defended and lionized this evil POS.

It's a good day!

If that's not OK with you - tough.

"I am done with this murderer. The media needs to go on with things and stop giving a cold blooded killer free press.
How does a civilized people feel sorry for a man who killed four people for less than $300.

Jesse Jackson needs to get the hell out of Kalifornia and mind his own wife and mistress. He had the stupid audacity to go on TV and claim that he didn't know if this murderer was guilty. I got news for you Jesse, it isn't up to you and we don't give a damn what you think. A jury of good honest people found this animal guilty of cold blooded murder X4. Several judges have upheld this conviction and he got exactly what he deserved. We do not need you input or a single word of advice from you. Just get you nose off of my TV set and go away."

Perfectly said!

I completely agree. The Death Penalty is justifiable and as a society we need to uphold this penalty for the good of society.
I'm so sick and tired of people like Jackson and Mike Farrell and all the other noodniks who butt-in at the last minute in
an attempt to circumvent the LAW.

I live in California, but Texas is the only State who follows procedure and LAW without all this B.S. fanfare. In Tookie's case,
the 'doubt' of his guilt was removed 4 times. His sentence should have been carried-out over 20 years ago.

With the empowerment given him by his supporters on the outside, I'm sure staff assigned to him walked on pins and needles hoping that he wouldn't find out where they or loved ones lived etc.

And that ever present, all encompassing word "DISS", or phrase "you dissed me" which seems to mean whatever, and can set off any amount of violence from any, no matter how small, perceived slight.

I'm sure Tookie exhalted in his power.

"And after crows and rats had feed on his carcass for a week, he should be buried in an unmarked grave under a public way, so that his grave is constantly defiled by the hooves of donkeys, the wheels of carts and feet of travelers. Indeed, the old ways were best."

Umm..not quite what I meant, though if an artist feel free to interpret.

The riots will commence soon, me thinks!

You thinks wrong. Wont be any riots. Just like those that thought Schwarzenegger would grant clemency to this murderer, they were wrong, like you.

Sorry to disappoint.

Nixon 77 is scheduled to die Wednesday in Mississippi for murdering a women. Her xhusband hired him (for$1,000.00) to kill her and her husband. Her x got life. She was 45 years old mother of three children. He has been on death row since March 1986. Her husband got away and was not killed. Gov. would not grant clemency. Gov. said real tragedy is that Justice in this case has been delayed for more than 20 years. And with that I agree should have been done a long time ago.
All those who witnessed the execution should be made see what these people done to others (the murders) they did. Put pictures in front of them of the victims. One reporter said he got ill while watching. Maybe if he see the victims he would feel different. He got more than his Vitim's got. And those children was left without a mother. I'm sorry but my heart goes out to families of those murdered.
Wonder if Jesse Jackson will show up in Mississippi??? Oh I forgot Nixon is a white man.

"The guy [Tookie] was a murderer and a 'breeder' of other murderers in that he started one of the most vicious gangs in America, 'inspiring' other wannabe toughguys to aspire to his level of 'achievement'."

Indeed.

"Celebrating" the validation of justice and upholding law in this case is nothing to be ashamed of. It is actually essentially a "celebration" of life.

How many innocent children have the likes of Tookie Williams murdered or enslaved to a life of evil over the years? How many now will be saved?

Any gang leader with the moniker "Tookie" is too effeminate to live, anyway.

Tookie got what he had coming - justice was served.

So, isn't justice being served something to celebrate? It happens so infrequently anymore.

The only thing that bothered me about this whole ordeal was that it was beaten into the ground.

That's the whole point. They aim to wear you out with it. Grind you down. Make you throw in the towel and scream "ENOUGH ALREADY". It's one of their favorite tactics.

Every time a high profile death penalty case comes up, I find myself wondering why these protestors aren't marching in front of abortion clinics advocating for the TRUELY and COMPLETELY innocent.

"Even in early American history a public hanging was a huge social event in which whole communities came to watch."

Right you are.

"The last public hanging in New Hampshire was in 1868 was that of Samuel Mills, convicted of murder. It took place at the County Jail on Court Street in Haverhill Corner, from the large timber sticking out the side window. The jail still stands at the rear of the jailer's home."

Sounds like "Tookie" was fighting and crying like a baby when they tried to put the 2nd needle into him. What a coward.

I'm with you. I don't get the whole concern about the "celebratory attitude" problem.

If someone doesn't like the tone of the thread...why hang around and read it? Why continue posting on it? eh?
People made fun of this guy and posted tons of crap about him before he was executed and now we're supposed to show some kind of reverance all of a sudden because he's dead? Give me a break! He was a murdering piece of crap. You think the libs showed reverance for Terry Schiavo, hell...for Reagan when he died? I remember those celebrations.

I'm not saying that people here should "give as good" or anything...but geez...fun police, much?

And "rest in peace"? Please!

I only hope his victims are resting in peace.
