Today if you are purchasing Christmas stamps and want Christian religious Christmas stamps from the USPS, you will have to ask for them. Ask for the Madonna and Child stamps. Apparently the postal service is too embarrassed to hang any posters advertising them in the postal offices (at least in my area}. I would love to see a real uptick in Madonna and Child stamp sales this year because I read that the leftist postal powers that be are thinking of discontinuing this American tradition.
What is Eid?
I have never heard of it.
Is it popular?
Her daughter is the spitting image of her.
My conservative Cow Town Post Office has them displayed prominently. My rural postal gals don't give a rip what "Corporate" wants them to do. :)
Yet they issued an 'Eid' stamp last year. Sometimes I think we're doomed.....
They've got a Kwanza stamp! They've got to be kidding....
"They had no problem advertising that Eid stamp though, DID THEY."
They sure didn't! After seeing that one, I decided to put the Marine stamps on my CHRISTMAS cards.
"What is Eid?"
It is a Muslim holiday that is similar to our Christmas.
"Is it popular?"
In Saudi Arabia, Iran, etc. it is.
Boy, you're not very politically correct, are you?
For Muslims, Eid ul-Fitr is a joyful celebration of the achievement of enhanced piety. ... Eid ul-Fitr commemorates the end of the month of Ramadan. ...
And for hypochondriacs, we have:

When you ask for Christmas stamps, just make sure to ask for the religious ones. They also have two sets of stamps.
Grrr. I asked for Christmas stamps today, and wound up getting these ugly things that are supposed to look like cookie cut-outs of snowmen and such. I had no idea that they had REAL Christmas stamps, because they weren't shown anywhere.
You can trade them in for real Christmas stamps. I understand they have to take them back.
Unfortunately, I already used one. That's okay. I'll just have to go back to the post office. The cookie cutter stamps can go on bills and other worthless things.
I bought the Virgin and Child series and thanks for putting this thread up!
I think it doesnt matter, you can still trade them in. You can also trade in uncanceled stamps on envelopes.
You are welcome.
Here they have a poster showing their seasonal stamps. The poster shows: Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Eid, & Holiday. The Madonna & child stamp is shown as 'Holiday'. The stamp has the word Christmas on it, but no where in the advertising
"It is the TIMELESS MADONNA...AND THE KING OF KINGS!!"
I agree with out founding fathers: America needs no King.
Bought mine last week when I stopped to mail Christmas Cards to a "support our troops" from our very own Canteen..
They were hanging on a wall display with all the other stamps.
In plain sight...
